I got some take off Pirelli slicks at the track this weekend and mounted up the rear. Too tired and lazy to swap it back, I'm running it on the street til I come up with a new set of DOTs. This morning was rainy and cold, but my truck is in the shop, so I took the bike to a meeting.
At the speed limit on secondary roads it performed fine. But then, I knew it would because I have raced in the wet on slicks before.
Don't try this set up if you are not familiar with how quick you can crash in the wet on slicks...
Yeah I have binned it on slicks in the rain on the street when it was cold...
The raspberries were coming in early last year...

Conti DOT's are actually not that bad in the wet. I do not recommend racing with them in the wet though.

Close your eyes, look deep in your soul, step outside yourself and let your mind go.
Was watching Jerez Moto3, I think 13 bikes went down in the wet corner of the track. Guessing they were on full slicks??

Track riding in the Rain is Easy,
You can
1)Go Fast
2)Turn
3)Brake
But only 1 at a time.

They were on slicks, and they all kept hitting that same puddle! Slicks+speed+puddle=highside. There was a clean line inside the puddle, but only a couple of guys figured that out. I guess it was just showing the relative inexperience of a lot of those guys. I know, some experienced guys even duffed it.
