    Beautiful Day for a Ride!

Anybody else go out for a ride today? I decided to take a ride to surprise my mom for Mother's Day as she thought I was working today. Went from Ashburnham to Salisbury Beach using the highway and backroads. Learning some new ways so I can get in some new roads and avoid the highways since they are boring!!

There was one guy on a bike on 495 who was a complete jerk! He went from 1st lane to 3rd lane when he came onto the highway and didn't even look! He ended up cutting me off and then it appeared as though he wasn't comfortable with the gears as he kept slowing up and you could hear the bike struggle between gears. It bugged me because I was cruising along and there was no one behind me so there was absolutely no reason for him to cut me off then kill my speed!

And I don't think I really noticed much before I started riding, but it's amazing how many riders don't wear any gear! Some people said to me today "don't you get hot?" and I just replied how I like my skin

Didn't get out on the bike today, I always love the comments from the peanut gallery about it being too hot for gear. When you're talking to your friends about how dangerous bikes are and how youll never get on one again because you ate it not driving responsibly you can at least tell them how comfy and cool you were that day.

It was a beautiful day, and I was up at Kimball Farm in Jaffrey, NH with my family. Just seeing all the bikes there made me want to ride. Encouraging, as I haven't been on the bike once yet this year.

Even though I ended last season well with the last TTD of the year, it seems that over the winter all the fear from my crash last April has crept back up on me. Such a minor crash, but the timing of it and the severity of the injury has really gotten inside my head.

Need to just man up and get back on it!!

Got in about 40 miles on my Road Glide. Not enough but still good to get out.

I did something very unusual for me today on such a nice day. After cooking mom breakfast this morning, I sat out in front of the garage drinking beer with the neighbor all afternoon. Felt pretty good I must say!

I went out to Freetown state forest in the afternoon solo but met up with an old dude that could ride and bombed around for a few hours. Conditions were perfect but I had a mechanical that stopped me. No crashes all day though!

I took 122 out of worcester up to the top of the quabbin reservoir. Once you pass rt62 it turns into chaos. HORRIBLE road conditions.
Once I got through that, I was looking forward to cruising down rt 202, but got stuck behind some cars and the ENTIRE road is being repaved, so it's grooved pavement. (Northbound side is halfway paved)
I'm still picking grit out of my eyes.
At that point, it was already around 5:30, so i said fug it and jumped on I-90 to head back over.

Beautiful weather, but not the best ride hah

Yep, I was out yesterday. Rode my Aprilia and GPZ back to back. The GPZ felt dramatically smaller, despite being heavier.

You'll see a lot of brain surgeons out riding on really nice days. They disappear whenever there's a gray cloud in the sky. Keep up with the gear. With vented stuff or mesh, it isn't too bad as long as you're moving. But on hot days, the extra effort to avoid any stop lights helps a lot. If you're willing, riding while standing will help cool you down after getting stuck in some traffic.

I rode in a bit of rain Saturday night and felt the rear end take a walk. Happened so quick I didn't even have time to get scared Lesson learned.

I grommed locally this afternoon. I had to work at it, but I managed 57 in a 30 at one point. It felt great to be out in the wind on a such a nice day.

I take it you didn't get my text message then. Was wondering why you didn't text me back. I forgot it was Mother's Day so I went up to Salisbury to surprise my mom at work. I texted you on Saturday afternoon before the lacrosse game so it was before 2pm. Sorry, guess I should have called you when I didn't get a reply from you.

Now to figure out a non-Mother's Day to get the tires changed and get in a ride!
