Well... i bought my bike 33 days ago & i've already put 1200 miles on her..... naht too shabby considering the New England weather (not including what we've had lately)
Downside is I gotta take care of her better. The clock just rolled 5000 miles & i assume that means she needs a little tunin up. I know the chain needs some LOOOOOOB. Gotta check the owners manual to find out the rest & i know there's a good amount that needs to be checked. Real problem is, since it's my first bike i'm not sure what's w/in tolerances, so i'll probalby have to take her in & shell out some $$$![]()

Either your owners manual OR a good Repair book should tell you all the spec's, and maitance items needed to be checked....
Dont waste your time & money taking it to a dealer.........
Its really all basic stuff

"hey Randy, do a wheelie!!"
yeah i wasn't plannin on takin it to a dealer... just a decent shop that knows what they're doin.
the owners manual only says what needs to be checked, not the tolerances, specs etc.

Check ebay for the shop manual. They have some 'backup' versions on cdrom, or the paper book. I have both for my bike, first things I bought for it!
Buy yourself a rear stand too. Makes things like the chain a lot easier. I picked up a powerstand from parts411.com Its spool/nonspool friendly. Very well built.
