Crushing your nuts into a gas tank is wicked comfortable and it looks cool when you turn blue in the face!
Call me crazy but I like to ride the type of bikes where this shit isn't remotely necessary. :abduct:

Mind boggling.
It is not to go fast.....it is for comfort.
I'm not saying it looks cool, but sometimes you just need to change you position.

I do that sometimes when cruisers pass me and don't wave, to make fun of them for their armchair riding position

Sorry. Disagree. 9 out of 10 people I see riding like that are certified morons. 9 out of 10 have no gear, no helmet, and obviously are not very skilled riders (aka squids)
Sure once and a while someone who 'knows what's up' will shift position and run like that for a few to change the buttcheeks around. However, again, in my experience most of the g0obs riding like that are doing it for the wrong reasons (lack of motorcycling education, perceived coolness, 'fast'-style, etc) and I'm not going to condone a riding postion that massively hinders the proper operation of your motorcycle. Might as well sit on the gas tank while you are at it.
Still not sure how that's for 'comfort' either. It cramps your legs up more and puts you in a very unnatural position. If anything sitting up straight (best for back) and taking left hand off bars, sitting slightly sidesaddle, stretching legs out straight, etc all shift you around better and stretch you out more while retaining competent controls on the bike. *shrug*

wait wait wait... where is his sandals? nope. as a squid i can not condone this with out the regulation sandals. plus a helmet? this guy is going a little overboard on saftey for my tastes. plus both wheels on the ground with the feet on the seat! amature! this is only comfortable when you are doing 110mph on the rear wheel. this guy should try something really dangerous like trying to take digital photos while spitting soda out your nose and trying to drive a van!

Re: you want to talk about a squid?....
on some 400+ mile days i've been known to get in some funky positions. what bothers me with the pic is that he's in a high traffic situation and may not react in time if some shit go's down in front of him.

Re: you want to talk about a squid?....
Anyone else catch all the brake lights ahead, what if someone decides to change lanes while slowing to gain that one extra car length in traffic. We do live in Mass and that extra 10 feet matters.

Re: you want to talk about a squid?....
Sorry guys I fall on the side of comfort. I don't consider myself the best rider out there but Squid I am not. My knees are a mess and cranking them back there [and forward] from time to time helps with the pain. My long haul bike is an FZ1 and the riding position is very tame so the stretch back is radical enough to give me an extra 50 - 75 miles at a clip.
I also wear full gear, signal for turns, and am courteous to other drivers around me.
Someone called you a bunch of Nazis and although that may be extreme it's not that far off. Encourage don't discourage. Theres plenty to learn in the "sport" and there isn't one person on this board who has learned it all or reached a point of motorcycle omniscience. Not only that but I for one would rather the whole world rode. So when you see something you consider a bone head move let them know but not by shaking your head, taking pictures of them and calling them losers. If you can teach them something through actions or words.

Hmmm.... I think you'd have to ride my bike to understand. The front pegs are set so far forward and upright that riding with your feet on your passenger pegs feels exactly like riding my 636. I can't speak for anyone else, though. I never rode with my feet on the passenger pegs of the 636 because the front [egs were already in that position. Ah well, to each their own. Not really a topic that warrants a 10 page trainwreck :twofinger:
