excuse my ignorance, but other than rocket like straight line acceleration, what's the allure? Do these things handle that well, or just looking for something to ride on the street a little calmer?

    Some questions:
    • Do you think they make lowering links for it?
    • Will it be a good bike for a beginner?
    • Should I start another thread about it?
    • Do you think they make a dual-outlet single exhaust for it?
    • Will I use all that power?

I really have thought about it. But it's a Yamaha though and it's $20K. Not sure Mark (R7) would be able to live with himself if I were to get one.
    I'll take that jab

I don't like the hammer its like the vrod. They are deffinately style over function with way forward pegs and low bars you are riding it bent in half. Also victory uses the sane engine in all their bikes so the more classic and comfortable vegas or jackpot have the same 98hp 106cu motor. The huge 240 tire on the hammer also hurts handling. There is also the m109r in this category of bike.

The Vmax is nice, but like most cruisers its pretty heavy and the geometry makes it almost impossible to wheelie even with all that power. My money is on a Diavel I test drove one and they are quick 162hp retuned superbike 1200 engine with electronic modes. It actually has more power than a superbike up to 6krpm or so. 0-60 in 2.5 seconds. You can also get a base model for 16k.

It may have the balls, but I just can't get past the ugliness factor.

My vote would be the Duc Street fighter. That is on my list of possible next bike...

I don't believe the Diavel or Street Fighter have great luggage options. I personally think a cruiser should offer more carrying capability than a sport bike. But that's just me ....

Think of the feeling received after schooling a liter rider on a smaller cc bike and compare them to the possibilities of riding an ugly cruiser ...
