I gotta get my old bike back on the street and it needs lights for the race plastics. The rear is easy with an undertail but the front is getting to me. I had previously grafted in a fog light and it worked ok but i want something better. Does anyone know of a light setup that can be grafted into the front of a gsxr race set or know anyone that can do Something like that. Me and fiberglass aint friends. Id really like it to be legal too.
I've seen people take projector beam headlights off of cars and graft them into race bodywork. All DOT labeled so completely legal. I believe the light was out of a 90's era Acura Integra. Sure you could find a few of those in a boneyard. If not I'm sure just waking through one would provide you with a few options.
I've daydreamed about a hypothetical street/track kit with:
a) a single control module mountable to the left handlebar
b) power-only leads that run to the front/rear from the battery
c) sturdy bolt-on mount points that allow quick release of plate/signals/brakelight module in the rear, projector headlights module in the front
d) control module talks to headlight and signals via wireless
e) brake light auto-illuminates on deceleration (almost certainly illegal, otherwise not completely stupid imho)
Sounds like a job for Kickstarter and someone with better hardware skills that I've got.

This guy did what you're thinking about a few years ago. It worked well for the month he had the bike together before eating it in turn 1 on thunderbolt.

Thats very close to what i have now. It's just not as pretty.
The acura light is pretty cool but it looks big. Im gonna hunt some boneyards this week to see if it really is that big.
