go to AutoZone and grab whatever % windown tint you want, add to inside of visor to your content

You going for the Colin Edwards approach...too dark to see any imperfections on the asphalt and slow down?

Wear sunglasses and tinted visor. Worth a shot.

I wouldn't spray anything on the shield

My sunglasses don't play well with visors, all sorts of polarization issues causing strange colors, dark spots, and difficult depth perception.

Yes, polarized sun glasses and polarized shields can create "interesting" moiré patterns so it's something to watch for. It doesn't really bother me, but yes I get it as well.

Inside for sure. That way it won't chip if a rock or something bounces off the shield.

I've hear of people doing this, cutting a 1-1.5" wide strip of tint for the very top of the visor, for if you're riding into the sun, you can tilt your head down a bit and look through the tinted portion.

I do something similar but with electrical tape. Just an inch or so wide so you can block the worst of the sun.
