Re: Good tips from Ride Apart

It always amused me that there always seems to be some kind of push to have motorcyclists thinking harder/being more actively involved in the experience of operating their vehicle. You all don't drive with the same mindset?

Sure, the consequences of screwing up are less if you're surrounded by 2 tons of steel and airbags and you don't have to balance, but we recently saw in the news how devastating a car can be at mowing down pedestrians. We see how texting can cause you to crash--and some of the commercials are quite sobering--and yet, many people allow themselves to be distracted while driving. I find this lack of self-discipline and personal responsibility to be at the root of a large part of the problem.

What's the difference between a bolt and a screw?
First you screw, then you bolt.

While I whole heartedly a free with you chicken. The difference is that a car driver is a danger to others. This article was a how to not be a danger TO YOUR SELF. And yes you should be treating all your vehicles' operation with the same respect but the stakes are deffinately much higher being on a bike.

I love the "CLICK HERE FOR MORE DUMBASS DRIVERS HOGGING THE DRAGON" pop up. I would like to see another minute or two before the crash to see why the two Harley riders felt the need to pass.

Minivan on the Dragon. 'nuff said.

I do appreciate the irony of a Harley dude being upset someone was going slow though
