TL Run Ha...

wow...it's interesting to see this thread plummet in the wrong direction based on the way it was worded...

this is what I picked up:
1.) The TL thread
-the TL thread was started to see who else has a twin.
-the TL thread was supposed to gauge who else also has a twin, and enjoy riding a twin
-the TL thread was started in hopes of starting a group ride
-there was NO intention of creating hatred or competition with 4-cylinders...granted the post was worded in a way that may come off the wrong way, I doubt it was intended with competition in mind.

2.) for this thread...
-gixxer read or saw the TL thread
-gixxer decided to start a similar thread to satirize the TL thread
-he wrote the first post of this thread in an outlandish way with a hint of sarcasm to ridicule the TL thread
-he DID NOT intend to stir up competition between a V-twin and an inline 4 (the way he did in the first post was supposed to be a joke)
-granted his first post was worded in a way that would piss off most 4-cylinder riders (I was pissed off when I read the first post), it was NOT intended that way.
-after people read the first post, they all lashed out at the (misguided) sarcasm
-granted it's obvious that 4-cylinders do make more hp, and will go faster in a straight line (which is the extent that most, but not all, riders on this forum have ridden a twin and 4-cylinder at their respective limits), the majority of people here assume that gixxer is using that criteria for judging twins...and if he races in a straight line, then he must be a drag racer, on public streets....this, of course, on a sportbike forum is a "lower status" type of rider, so people have to pull out their balls of steel, relate to their trackday experience, and condescend to him because he (probably) hasn't ever done one

now even though he's openly admitted that his first post was just a joke, and that all he was trying to do was get a ride together (similar to the way the TL thread was trying to), the majority of the people here hate him

I dont think its what you ride, its why and how you ride it.

It looks like I messed this whole thing up and made people even dislike me. But really I love any kind of bike. For this I ask everyones forgiveness. I dont hate the V-Twins at all. I guess I was beaing an ass. I hope that I dont get kicked off but if a mod decides to do so, so be it. Hopefully everyone agrees and we all become cool to each other. I wish to stay here for a long time. But now I will sit back and let all of you decide on this matter.

I like the V-Twins but come on you have to admit its hard to run with the inlne four's. I am thinking of creating a ride to show these V-Twins what sportbikes are really made up of . I am out of Fall River and I am looking to get a mad amount of bikers to go on a run to settle this that the inlines RULE!!!

TL Riders are touchey, our bikes have been out of production for 4 years now.. So some people think we ride Old bikes because we are poor, misguided old folks.. Not true

I was testing out my camera today on the bike. A nice easy ride and I ended up having some shifing problems. It would engage from 2nd-3rd easily but at least heres a taste of the sound. Its not great but good for the first test run.
