    Trailer modification

I need to modify my trailer. It seems to be too short of a distance and at the wrong angle to tie down my bike properly on my homemade trailer.

At a trackday I noticed Paul's trailer had a pipe welded along the front with adjustable rod through the middle so it can be extended for a good fit depending on what bike/how many etc.

So...I'm gonna attempt this over the weekend.

Any suggestions, comments, or hints that may save me some time an aggrevation...are all appreciated.

Are you welding it up? If so make sure you get the rust off & beveled edges.

Heres a condom. I figured since youre acting like a dick, you should dress like one too.

measure twice cut once. depending on how thick the metal is beveled edges are optional. just be sure your stock is clean and they butt together nice and flush.

well im not sure how thick the material is that shes using but why would you bevel the edges on thin material? the welder should get good penetration without a beveled edge if the material is thin. but then again i could be wrong.

I'm just going by how I weld & what works. Only sheet metal I dont any thing thicker I beveled the edge. Makes better looking welds.

Ok boys....I know how to weld!! And how it looks is secondary to how it functions.........

I was looking for any suggestions about design. Pictures work great!

Humm I don't know what the trailer is or how it's set up but have you considered using electrical strut bars? They come in 10' lengths and have holes cut into it uniformly.
I'm going to install it in my van.
