Guys,
I can't believe how AWESOME the BIG TWIN is. After I got home this evening, I was out in the drive cleaning the bike off (love that Honda Pro Cleaner), and Alison came out and was chatting while I cleaned the bike.
She was asking my opinion of the Duc, and how it compared to the inline 4's. They are both different, and have their inherent strengths, I told her, but I LOVE THE TWIN! Everything about it - the look, feel, torque, handling, sound, even the SMELL! I love this bike! I've only ridden it a few days, but I am already finding it hard to imagine NOT having a big twin!
Of course I am still conducting my 100,000 mile test on the R1, and I better get to bed so that I'll be able to take it out and put a few more miles on IT tomorrow!

Dude! I can't wait to ride that....er, uh....check that thing out. Yeah, that's it...check it out...![]()
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
I suggest that on the Jump&Ride event we drop him from the plane a few miles early, then by the time he gets back to the base we will all have a top speed run on the 996. :o

Eug,
Now THAT is creative - and it COULD work!
Having done 650 miles on the bike this weekend in all types of conditions (major back roads ROCKIN' through Maine), I am more impressed than EVER with the 996. It is truly in it's "element" when the pace picks up, and you tap into the real potential of the bike. The handling in twisties at ummm, the posted speed limit, is remarkable...
Looking forward to riding with all of you guys soon! Stoneroni, I'll be seeing you on Saturday. Let's touch base off thread to firm up meeting times at the camp, etc...![]()
