Tractor Trailer/Motorcycle Crash

I don't really like to see these sorts of posts. It's a tragedy. Hoping it's not one of 'us' in the sense of being an NESR members. Though, he was surely one of us in the broader sense. Heart goes out to his friends and family.

BEDFORD, N.H. -- One person was killed in a crash involving a motorcycle and tractor-trailer on Route 101 in Bedford on Tuesday morning.

The road was opened, but traffic was down to two lanes at 10:30 a.m.

The tactical accident reconstruction team was on the way and police said they expected to be on the scene for hours.

Authorities are asking motorists to avoid that section of highway if possible

Police said the tractor-trailer stopped at a traffic light and the motorcycle slammed into it from behind. The rear axle of the tractor-trailer caught fire.

Ok, it's sad to see a rider die... but really? He/she couldn't outbrake a tractor-trailer?

Probably inattentiveness leading to emergency stop on damp pavement. The inability to brake quicker probably wasn't a factor.

The guy was a 9/11 Survivor, a husband and father. Who knows exactly what happened that he ran into the truck we will never know.
