you are full of shit because you don't know what you are talking about
Goto VT
MY Gixer and a busa spent time with
"theoretical maximum power"
Also look at the 60 to 80 roll on numbers
if the engine configuration doesn't matter then why is vtwin tune the way it's tune? why don't they make cylinder the same size and tune like I4 and still have skinner bike?Quote:

Kham, are you brain dead, if the cylinders were the same size in a twin as a I4, it would only have half the displacement (cc's)Quote:

my bad. thought they ahve 4 cylinders.
They call it a V four
yea i know. brain dead like he said.
twin is 2. i couldn't picture 2 cylinders in sportbike. :D
I was going to make same comment that you'd half your displacement, and that would obviously not be good.Quote:

But then I thought - maybe he was asking what if you did big bore and short stroke in a VT motor?

that's what VT sportbike motors are, the bore is always bigger than the stroke unlike a hardley
Ride what ever you want
& you can all go fuck your selfs
He just doesn't understand a good argument
No its simple contadiction
Is not
Is
Is not
There your doing it again
How come the most exciting thing coming from Duc land is a v four ? There closing in on the answer another 5 or 6 decades and they'll have it.

:dunno: a V5 like honda
Would it be possible to have a Vx motor where some cyl have long stroke small bore then others short stroke big bore, the idea that the power band could be flattened? Would such a motor be capable of running balanced & smoothly?
What if Ducati just said F it and built one incredible ~800 inline motor? Something that could be tuned low & flat for street i.e. strada or wrung out for track? Would it sell? Could they make money? Could it win races if it CC was sized to match race class specs?
That's what the Honda RC211V is... just a wee bit expensive for the rest of us.
It has 3 cylinders of one size and 2 of another size if I understand correctly.
^ that is the concept i was wondering about... i couldn't understand how you could have a V5 and still have it balanced, but i didn't consider piston size
I have now had both liter versions from one single manufacturer and I can attest to the weight and power of the 4 cylinder. With that said I'd prefer the rumble of the V any day. The V bike had more character and proved to be more interesting at normal speeds, almost as if it didn't invite me to speed all the time like this new bike does.
:stupid:
I just switched camps myself, and while you can't REALLY (fairly) compare an 04 Superhawk to an 07 GSXR1000 I found that The Superhawk was more fun to ride at reasonable speeds. The GSXR is more fun in general, though :D If it weren't for the Superhawk's suspension I'd probably still own it.
vtwin is gay
Ok, I'm gonna throw my wrench into the gears with this lil squabble match.
How about parallel twin vs. V-twin?
My Kawi 650R has some damn respectable 60-80mph and 80-100mph roll-on times.
Discuss!
I had a honda 996 Superhawk V-Twin
and now a Honda 929RR i miss the sound and torque of my v-twin but the smoothness of the I4 is sweet. I kinda torn in both directions
