Re: upgrading bike opinion...
I think the wheels are ugly. I'll sell you a 954 with much better looking wheels than that for less. Adult owned, 15k miles.

Go to a smaller bank or credit union. They should finance you without paying the extra point the dealer will charge you. I have had 2 bike loans threw DCU and had a good experience and good finance rate. Plus I knew exactly how much I could spend.

Re: upgrading bike opinion...
got an update: i was able to talk him down to 5000. Battery was completely dead, and i can tell its been dropped or at the very least, tipped over. I told him I would buy it for 4000 but he said no right off the bat. I think i'm gonna pass. What do you guys think? Still too much?
Re: upgrading bike opinion...
Yes, you can do a lot better
Re: upgrading bike opinion...
Re: upgrading bike opinion...
Yes, pass on it. You'll find better bikes for less money
Re: upgrading bike opinion...
buy my tuono with 4k miles for 7000!
Re: upgrading bike opinion...
yes, buy his bike and I'll buy it from you next season. ;-)
Re: upgrading bike opinion...
The 954 sounds like damaged goods to me, walk away. Leave the guy your number with the price your willing to pay, guaranteed he calls you. $3K is the absolute highest I would pay for that.
Re: upgrading bike opinion...
yeah i did just that, I left him my number. if he calls ill tell him to drop another grand and I might talk. its at 5000 right now but honestly, i doubt hell call. I might go look at R1's.....well, R1 posted above

and yes, i like my bikes black before you ask :D
Re: upgrading bike opinion...
Very nice choices. I'd go with the Honda and offer in the $5k range to start. Compared to the ZX-6 it is much more powerful and quality should be better.

Re: upgrading bike opinion...
Don't get put off on R1's bike. If he doesn't respond right away it's cause he's in surgery today.
Re: upgrading bike opinion...
oh wow, thats right. I forgot about his surgery, that explains it.... *ATTENTION ATTENTION ATTENTION*** NOOB QUESTION TO FOLLOW.....
is there a big difference between the CBR 1000R vs the R1? :naughty

Yes. The R1 is waaaaaaay coolerer :beerbang:
Re: upgrading bike opinion...
R1 is better looking in my opinion. The Honda is probably more comfortable ergonomics and likely to be easier to ride. In the right hands, the R1 will be faster on the track.
Re: upgrading bike opinion...
I'm a kawi rider so i'd have to say go with the zx-6r. but it really depends on the riding you do. I do mostly back roads almost no highways and a 600 is better for cornering and gas mileage. but the 1000's love highways and straights.
Modern FI 600's are going to be a lot faster then your old bike
modern 1000s are going to be stupidly faster lol
Kawi FTW
Re: upgrading bike opinion...
the price he is asking for the 954 is to high, granted the 954 is probly one of the best liter bikes ever made, it is the lightest of all liter bikes and is a great bike for an experanced rider. mine has 40,000 on the clock and i bought it with 10,000 on it 4 years ago and only paid 4500 for it then.
Re: upgrading bike opinion...
i dont think they told u but the 954 at vally motor, they are selling was stunted. and not very gently
Re: upgrading bike opinion...
^Is that the zx-12 that was there not that long ago? Put a full muzzy on that and you have one of the best sounding bikes I have ever heard. I used to ride my friends all the time and it was very nice. :drink:

of course they didnt tell me that, why would they? They guy tried telling me it was some guy in his 30's that traded it in. Judging by all the stickers on it that didnt come with the bike, I figured he was blowing smoke up my ass lol
