IMHO, the members here do some of the best moderation..as perfect example in this thread.

Thanks, just carrying on the code that was passed to me. Bladerunner saved my ass and picked me up back in the day, broken down on the Masspike on the Ducati without even knowing me but the forum. So any chance to help other Forum members is my gratitude. That's what these networks are great for. Much thanks to Golden Chicken, he was right there with me on the other side of the truck. Mark I see what you're saying about not banning people, letting the members police themselves etc but the ones who seem to be taken advantage of these antics are those who are unaware of the history. And those in the know, per forum rules, can't exactly go into every thread started by him and warn others as it will be seen as muddying up a fs thread. It has been made quite evident that no matter how many times this type of thing is pulled and he is called out for it, he will continue this behavior.

At what point does freely allowing this behavior by a member start to reflect negatively on the forum as a whole? One of the main appeals to this board has been the tight knit type of environment where I've always felt I could trust other established members whether I know them personally or not. Events such as this continuing to play out detracts from this sense of trust in the community in my opinion.

Ban or not, I think Ray Ray is an 8 year old in a mid twenties body. Not evil (I think) just stupidly irresponsible. I may be wrong. I haven't dealt with him directly on any of these issues. Tricky got it right.

But you're point is a good one. At some point his behavior may reflect badly on the forum. It seems to me we've banned a couple others for less????

(However, as noted earlier, none of the principals involved in this fiasco have weighed in....)

Well said Johnny. I have blindly (without research)met a lot of you guys on here and have befriended many of you with no problems. Do we really want to be the forum that requires new members to be cautious of meeting new people or cautious of purchasing goods or services?

We should want the thought proccess to continue to be "hey this tricky mike guy changes tires ill go there for that!" Rather than "hmm this Guy changes tires out of his garage....whats his angle...am I going to wake up with no organs if I go there?"

We've been down this road before with Ray and if I recall, the issues in the past were at some point resloved. However, this thread is not about the past!
The current issue I fail to see why or how it involves NESR as a forum other than this thread? i don't see anywhere were he advertised trailering bike for a trackday and collecting money for it..other than this thread after the fact. How can I..or we for the matter at NESR take action against someone that didn't post anything here to begin with? And in this case, I know there are people involved with this situation that know Rays past all to well...maybe they should have warned those involved first?

That being said, show me the thread here on NESR, where he advertised trailering peoples bikes and collecting money and I will point it out to the admins and see what action should be taken.

I'm a big advocate of "due process". Neither the person in question nor the alleged victims have responded, yet we are frying the guy.

I have never met Ray Ray, never bought, sold or otherwise traded with him. I can only go with what I see in older threads and tread cautiously. Given the muddy resolution of other transaction disputes (goods often not ever delivered, money very slowly refunded), I would be very hesitant to deal with him. That doesn't mean I wouldn't engage in a cash-in-person deal with him.

Certainly we should all bide a little time patiently to see what the truths are regarding this latest transaction before condemnation.

I'd think after starting a thread as this one and calling him out from the get-go, we're not asking much to know exactly what went down and how. YOU dragged US into it, not the other way around...
