9 years on road bikes and I have never gone down even though I had a motorcycle right when I turned 16. I've had my fair share of close calls involving both my over confidence and other people's inability to operate a motor vehicle. I've also had several run-ins with wildlife that were too close for comfort.
If we throw dirt bikes into the mix, then I have gone down many times. I've been crashing them since I was little!
I've witnessed a number of bad motorcycle accidents and have been first on scene to a handful of others. Some were very severe but fortunately not fatal.
A few weeks ago I was driving to work on my bike when I came up on a gas station that had what I thought was road kill in the middle of the road. Traffic was going around the obstruction and continuing on their way to work. When I came up on the scene I was horrified,,, a black and orange honda was lying in the road with the front end all smashed in, next to it was the driver rolling around in pain in the middle of the road with blood comming from above his eye. I pulled off to do what I could until the police arived. I Guess the guy rear ended a truck of some sort that was waiting to turn left into the gas station, he hit so hard he knocked a tun of rust off the truck. For some reason the truck left the secne. I could not belive that people were just driving by a guy rolling around in the road. I was running late to but some things are more important.
Start practicing taking pictures, I'll pick you up at 7am sharp sunday morning:)Quote:
