Ever wish people wouldn't tailgate you?

I was gonna say... this guy's riding a FJR1300... why not just... I DUNNO... TWIST THE THROTTLE???

You're faster than most things on the road on a 600... why waste time and expenses making something that will not only get you arrested, but get your license suspended and your bike impounded???

I'd rather get busted for the speeding ticket and state that you were "evading an unruly driver and your only safe alternative to allowing them to pass was to pull away from them."

Wow. I cant believe I read the whole 3 pages of this. The Idea.... Hilarious go for it. Ball Bearings? Unzip a pocket wearing riding gloves and toss em. Not doable (tried that). It works if you are squiddin along with big pockets and no gloves. Not going fast enough? Really? Not everyone enjoys passing in between cars at 70+. If there are cars in the travel lanes you are screwed. Gotta follow em. If anything Watch them in the mirror, Slam on the brakes,pop and roll over the hood (stuntman style), call insurance company, and finally get the cagers insurance company for early retirement and a new bike. Or just do the handgun idea and fire a few shots through the windshield. Easy to shoot back in traffic, aim, and have noone get a description of you let alone plate number while you are in heavy traffic.

Doesn't matter what you are riding if traffic is in front of you.

Next time you get stopped, let us know how your "Unruly driver defense" works out for you. I'm pretty sure the LEO is going to suggest that changing lanes and letting them by might be an option....

Try riding in CT and NY on 95 and the hutch, we get a lot more traffic down here than VT, don't talk to me about driving on public roads LMAO. He's either going slow or not changing lanes to get out of peoples' way. On 95 down here if you're not doing 80mph+ in the left lane during peak times there are people trying to kill you. If you're doing 80mph+ they're still at least tailgating you. So what do you do? You stay in the middle or right lanes. OR if someone is tailgating you switch lanes when it is safe and let them pass.

Out of the 330,000 or so riding miles I've put on and 300,000 or so driving miles, all over this country, my observations do not agree with yours. Not even close. I've seen plenty of people doing what you mentioned but I remember them more because they pissed me off over a longer period of time than the people that tail-gated me. If some one is following to close I let them by ASAP as it's safer for me and trying to teach a stranger in a 3000+ lb vehicle a lesson is not of any interest to me. -Jake :drink:

ok, perhaps I should have restated what I meant. Everywhere you go you're going to get tailgated if the person behind you wants to go faster or is a moron (most cases lol). Like you I simply get out of the way because car wins vs bike every time. We don't sit and complain about it (unless an isolate very severe form of it happened to us) and refuse to let them by and build rigs to spray diesel lol.

Having said that, in my personal experience in my limited bike miles compared to yours, I don't get tailgated much at all. I guess I drive slightly faster than the traffic around me most of the time when on the bike. In the car, it's just how it is around here, everyone tailgates if traffic is under 75mph in the left lane, ALL THE TIME. At least it's predictable, and in my experience most of the time they don't tailgate bikes. Lately in the car I've been flashing people in the left lane who are not passing and only traveling same speed as traffic in the middle lane, instead of passing on the right. That pisses me off to no end. People in US get so pissed over this too when they shouldn't. They should realize that someone behind them wants to go faster and wants them to pull aside because it's safer than passing on the right. I hear in places like germany on the autobahn people get right over.

Do you ride your bike everywhere? Jesus that's a lot of miles riding and so few in a car, how long have you been riding? How old are you?

I'm 44 and started riding when I was 20 or so. The first 10 years I put on approx 250,000 miles or so. I would ride as much as possible, just loved it. Now I don't get out nearly as often but when I do I try to make it count. My average ride this year was approx. 400 miles per day or so. Let's see, 2 1/2 back tires this year so 6-7000 mile. Wheelies are good! :drink:

Very nice, and causes no damage.

When I was tailgated on my RD400, I'd just reach down and hit the enrichner. The smoke screen out the back would work wonders.

Hoy rodder use to inject oil into the exhaust manifolds

not good for the converter though

yea i usually don't even give her time to ask to snuggle afterwards either hehe
