Looks like it could be fun!
Hold on to your horses Segway fans! Now there is a new way to get around. The Centaur is a radical invention created by Segway that successfully takes the best of two or three worlds (Segway, BMX and ATV) and mashes them together.
I first fell in love with the Centaur while looking for a form of transportation that wouldn’t cost me an arm and a leg every week to fill up at the gas station. I love my Jeep, but DANG! 17 mpg! Anyway, I was all set to put my money down on a Rhodes car when I saw the Centaur.
The Centaur looks like it belongs in the future. Its powered by electricity. I said it’s powered by electricity! No gas! And it is able to do things that no other Segway, off road bike or ATV could dream of. It’s true, watch the video!
Unfortunately, having said all that, you won’t be seeing me or any other fan riding down the street or off road any time soon. The Centaur is merely a concept vehicle. Awhh. I guess it’s just as well. I’m sure it would end up costing quit a bit of money. After all, Segway scooters are going for around $5,000.
Who cares. I want one!

This thing is basically just an ATV with a Segway ass-end. I'm struggling to come up with ways that this would be superior to a standard ATV, other than a small turning radius should you need it.
I'm sure it has some of the stability benefits of the segway. That gyroscopic balancing junk. And it looks like you can stand it up on two wheels and instantly achieve balance (segway mode I'll call it). On an ATV you'd have to find that balance point and keep it there yourself.
It's a Segway with two additional wheels. That's pretty much it. Seriously.
