Re: 2014 Hurricane Mountain Road Ride - Sunday, June 29th - 8:30am
Was an absolutely splendid day in the White Mountains!
Sorry I was being such a cry baby on sweep. I can't handle large groups anymore and going real slow. ha!

Re: 2014 Hurricane Mountain Road Ride - Sunday, June 29th - 8:30am
Awesome freekin day. No performance awards and no offs. 410 miles for me and I know others may have 500 or close to it. Pics later and maybe some video in a few days. For now, a cole drink and dinner.
Thanks everyone - all 22 of you - for showing up and sticking with this long assed day! Thanks to Terry for sweeping and Kenn too.

Re: 2014 Hurricane Mountain Road Ride - Sunday, June 29th - 8:30am
What a day! 425 miles. Thanks to Dave for organizing and leading the first 3/4, Terry and Kenn for sweeping, and to Mark for leading the last leg from Lincoln. Great job! Too bad we missed the swimming hole, although all I could thing of was that scene from Wild Hogs.
Still can't get over that asshole that tried to kill us on Winona road. I wanna go back to his house and confront him.

Re: 2014 Hurricane Mountain Road Ride - Sunday, June 29th - 8:30am
Thanks Dave, Kenn, Terry, Mark.. anyone else that led, swept, or otherwise tried to herd us cats.
And thanks No Quarter for leading the way home. Thanks Mrs No Quarter for checking in on my mangy mutt so I could stay out for the day.
Really great day.

Re: 2014 Hurricane Mountain Road Ride - Sunday, June 29th - 8:30am
Great day - 414 miles for me.
I had a blast on HMR, even got the BUSA airborne.
Thanks Dave and Mark for leading.
Great group of riders and fantastic weather!

Re: 2014 Hurricane Mountain Road Ride - Sunday, June 29th - 8:30am
680 this weekend for me. Mileage today should pretty much be whatever Don has.
Part of me wants to find every Harley near me and drain it's oil overnight just because. Problem is, I'm not sure if it will make a difference or not in how those things run.
Time to guzzle beer!

Re: 2014 Hurricane Mountain Road Ride - Sunday, June 29th - 8:30am
Salute! To all of those who took part in today's ride. Special thanks to Dave, Terry, Ken, Mark, and the guy on Rt. 2 in the convertible who graciously gave us his permission to pass. :D I will go through my video footage and see what I can and what I should not post.

Re: 2014 Hurricane Mountain Road Ride - Sunday, June 29th - 8:30am
Thanks to all who led and swept. Great but exhausting day.
I almost couldn't see from laughing so hard at wifey on the comms coming down HMR. She's pretty awesome as a passenger.
Apologies for bugging out on the last section. Bike didn't feel like it was holding a line correctly. Slabbing hone confirmed that I've managed to to mess up some suspension bits. Steering is pushing right, forcing the bike left. Every significant bump results in about 3 "oscillations" of the bike hunting for a line. It actually handles better while turning than trying to go straight.
Too tired to take it apart tonight. I still can't drink enough water.

Nice pics Trajiks and No Quarter.
Thanks Dave for a fantastic ride! Thanks also to Terry and Ken for sweeping and keeping the group together.
Great seeing jasnmar hang off the 'wing with his wife enjoying (and screaming, lol) the ride.
No DucDave ride is complete without a lemonade stand stop... Really made that little girl's day!:twothumb:

Re: 2014 Hurricane Mountain Road Ride - Sunday, June 29th - 8:30am
Great day! 440 miles by the time I hit my door... and I bailed off Rt.3 before you all went to the track.
LONG day... great day... Thanks!

Re: 2014 Hurricane Mountain Road Ride - Sunday, June 29th - 8:30am
13+ hours and probably 500 miles on a 250 tard. Thanks to everybody (especially the sweeps) for tolerating my slow bike adventure :P.
What a great day, so much awesome/terrible. Glad I stuck around - some of the best riding was at the end.
First time I saw someone brandish a BMW.
I made it through all that and ended up getting pulled over 2 miles from my house. After 500 miles on that thing, I'm sure you can guess why.
"Do you know why I pulled you over?"
"Nope"
"Do you think you have full control of the bike while standing?"
"Yes."
"Oh, really?"
"Yeah, I feel pretty good about it :P"
Then he had a real emergency and took off.

Re: 2014 Hurricane Mountain Road Ride - Sunday, June 29th - 8:30am
Full control while standing. First time I've heard that one.

IMO that thing is plenty fast enough for these rides. You were ripping on that thing.
On one hand I really regret not having my DRZ along for this one. Hurricane Mountain must have been positively silly.
On the other, I don't envy you on that thong of a saddle for 11-12 hours like that.
I got to ride all day on a Corbin. I finally understand what the hubub over aftermarket seats is all about. Seat Concepts order going down in 3.. 2.. 1..

I'm sore, but it was worth it. I'm putting a better seat on the short list for that bike.
