Great ride. Just got home. Carlton and I did about 450-500 miles. Hit a bunch of great roads on the way up to vt, then rt. 17 ect. I tested out my frame sliders - they work great. BTW - it is a bad idea to cool your tires at the top of rt. 17, drive through a puddle of antifreeze, and then try to zip down the hill. No big deal, I'm fine and the bike is fine (road home, the bike has almost no scratches, seriously the 4 sets of frame sliders I put on where worth the money).

That's right, back to a 2 cylinder, 3 cylinder, and a 4 cylinder.
I can't believe you beat me home (by 10 mins).
again, glad that you and the bike are alright.
must say it was funny coming out of 9% downhill sharp righter and all I saw was you doing jumping jack and your bike slide for 20 ft.
I twas a great day.
no tix, many twistes, 14 hrs seat time.

Great riding with you dude. I can't believe I beat you home either. You get wet at the end? We were so lucky with weather all day, but it poured on me just as I was coming into Boston.
BTW - it sounds like with where going crazy on the ride, but actually we took a nice sedate pace for 95% of the ride. Sucks to cruise for hundereds of miles and crash during the few aggressive miles.

Sounds like a great ride-Except for the incedent. Wish I could have made it. Oh well, I'll get some seat time tomorrow.

Nice! Looks like you guys enjoyed the ride. Glad you ok wookie. Heh, I remember you talking this morning about the frame sliders, lol. Good thing they did their job!
And yeh, VT 17 is definately the road to hit with warmed up tires.

Yeah, the funny thing is a bunch of stuff we talked about this morning came up during the day - including wild turkeys running out in front of us (thankfully they didn't end up riding bitch).
so, so true. Stupid of me. A lot of people stop and BS at the top, not me anymore.

Dam you guys must be exhausted cause it was hot and sticky, by 2pm I was ready to hit the shower. Wookie how ironic we were discussing how little damage to your bike if it should go down, sounds like they did their job and those useless rear footsliders.

sounds like a good slide there wookie or is there such thing as good slide?that was a long ass ride.
"fuckit!"
Sux that I missed this one did you guys stop at the pizza joint on the other side off 17? That place was pretty good
To bad you slid the triple down the road, but did you get those other sliders on that you didn't have on before?
Did you make it to T road?
And as for sliding it is fun it just sux that it means you just wrecked the bike

No didn't make it that far everyone had to be home early. We got up to rt 100 then back to rt 2 and headed home. It was a nice ride, you should had skip work and came with us.

Yes, I put those GSG sliders on (the ones we were talking about) and I'm glad I did.
That sub/pizza place is great, but after dropping the bike on 17, I was kind of bummed and worried about the bike. Ended up skipping T road (sorry Carlton, thanks for being cool with cutting the trip a little short, still made over 450 miles).
Kham: the slide was not graceful or cool. Thankfully I wasn't going that fast.

From the pond heading west for 1.4 miles its "loose stone"....... headed up there on Saturday and saw it. Sucked up the 1.4 miles of gravel and had a blast on the rest of it. Anyone know if DOT is planning on doing the whole thing?
wow, thanks for the update tbone.
wookie, so we didn't miss out much!
