I found an awesome route on GroupRider.com
http://www.grouprider.com/rides.php?...ap&rideid=1035
Check off the All T-B-T to show route directions.
Seems like it would be an awesome route. What do you guys think about getting a NESR group together and try this out? Anyone willing to lead that is familiar with this area on the map? I would, but I don't know anything about Western Mass and I don't have GPS.
I know alot of whats on that route and would be down for a ride this summer. I won't be riding until late may however, since my lacrosse coach would have a stroke. Miss T lead a ride through this area last summer though so ask her about it.
Are all the kinks in the map just lefts and rights onto new roads? Seems like it would be a pain to follow that route with directions and a tank map. It's got over a hundred road changes.
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
They sure did hit quite a few of the good roads in the area. What I don't like about it is the long ride South on Rt. 7 and Rt. 8 from Williamstown to about Becket. Inbetween those two towns (which is a considerable distance), the roads are straight and uneventful plus you get to drive through the middle of Pittsfield. I know it is a Western MA ride but after crossing into NY over Rt. 2, I like to head North and hit a number of the NY county roads and then cross into VT where there are fewer people, fewer cops, and more motorcycle friendly roads to choose from.

Thats a "get out of work and go for a short cruise" route for me.Misses alot of good roads, but hey, cant win em all.
I'd rate it 5 out of 10. Only real highlight is the Taconic Trail in NY, and the stretch of 20 through Cheshire. And following that route via a map is cake.
I know a little about everything, and alot about nothing.
I have to agrre that the stretch on Route 7 is boring, comparing to other nice roads in the Berkshires. I'll have to check out the map later tho. I always lead one ride in the summer thru the Berkshires (the summer party at our house following), but this year I'd like to include Route 2 crossing into NY, it's a SWEET stretch....but too short if you ask me.![]()

Some of my favorite parts on this route are 116 thru Ashfield (SWEET!!) and Route 2 crossing into NY state (Taconic Trail). Route 2 in MA (Mohawk Trail) is an awsome long stretch for fast pace, but I'm getting tired of trying to ride it with all the traffic on it....some days it's just ridiculous.Oh yeah...there's a bunch of sweet smaller roads missing on that map...
