Yes, but they don't know that at first. Friend just got back from a trip to Ireland. He's a Russian transplant so got it from both sides. It's not a great time to be a tourist from the US right now.

During shithead's last term Sylwia and I went to Ecuador, literally just a few weeks before Covid hit US shores. The first day there we were on a bus and the guide was asking everyone where they're from. "Brazil", "Germany", "Japan", etc etc. Each person answered, and everybody else cheered...

Aaaaaaand then the guide got to us. and before I could lean over to Sylwia and say "Tell them we're from Canada" Sylwia replied "United Stated" and... well... Crickets. The guide just gave a lackluster "Aaaayyyy".

I can only imagine the reception if we would've gotten if we went now.
