Have you been to that campsite before? We are still looking for a spot for the night. We want to be close by the mountain so we can hit it in the morning then scoot up north. Our plans have changed and we are now going to do part of the trans Quebec trail system rather than hit Montreal so we have more time in the area
Never been there. I just booked it because its got showers and flush toilets and was close to the mountain.

We grabbed the last spot at dry River for Sunday night. Reviews say it's the worst spot but beggars can't be choosers.
Were in spot 2 which I guess is close to the road, but also the showers and bathrooms. I'm sure there is room for two tents in our area if you want to set up with us. Not sure what the rules are but I imagine theyre flexible.
We are in spot 3 so near you I guess. Review and site notes say it's a walking in spot and the parking for it is a bit aways. Maybe that won't matter with bikes. If it look sketchy we may take you up on your offer.
What part of Maine will you be in? I'll be in the naples/bridgeton/harreson area. Possible we could link up and ride over together.
Just bumping this up. Do we know yet what the consensus is? I'd like to start keeping an eye on my schedule.
For me im going to be heading out of dry river sometime Monday morning and heading to the autoroad which is about 45 .minutes away. We are a bit flexible on time but really need to be off the mountain by noon so we can get to our next camp site and still have light left to set up. We are heading north up.110\3 to the Canada border.
We will be camping at dry river Sunday the 12th through Wednesday the 15th. I can't make the auto road on Sunday. Was planning on Monday or Tuesday. Dont care if we do it either of those days. Probably will be weather dependent.

Yup! I've been at the bottom when it was 80 & sunny and beautiful, but they weren't letting motorcycles up because it was clouded in and rainy with crazy wind. I've also been up on a record setting temp day and it was absolutely awesome. And yet I've been up the hill when it was cloudy & drizzling at the base but in the mid 70's & sunny at the summit. What is your plan for Sunday? We can adjust somewhat if riding up together is possible. We are planning on avoiding the highway as much as possible since one of our bikes is brand new and still in the break in phase.
Hoping to leave around 10am. 91 to white river junction and then back and dirt roads across nh. I want to do a detour where we go north up through sandwich notch road, then tripoli road, up to the kanc, bear mountain road and then set up our camp. We will probably stop for a late lunch in Lincoln or north Woodstock.
Nice trip. We are going to head more northly and ultimately end up in Lincoln to jump on the kanga and cross over to conway.
I'm assuming everyone knows West Side Road to get around North Conway?
coming in from the Fryeburg direction, Hurricane Mtn Rd would be a good traffic avoidance route, even coming from 153, taking Brownfield Rd thru Snowville to West Brownfield, then Haleytown Rd to FryeburgQuote:

I have been on it once many years ago to see the falls.
Coming north on Route 153, one can also take Stark Road to pretty much avoid the Conways all together. It dumps you out between Route 153 & Route 302.Quote:

I don't think it'll be ALL that bad going north on later Sunday, but you never know with summer vacation & all. Usually by Sunday, the masses are travelling south from that area.Quote:

We *MAY* luck out with Monday's weather. Yeah, yeah, I said don't bother yet. But watching the way things are unfolding, after a fairly unsettled Thursday and Friday it looks like a decent stretch of weather for a few days should be in the cards. Temps should be fairly warm, but humidity should be pretty comfortable once the battle of the fronts is won by nice weather. That said, I put everyone on notice that I'll be taking Monday off. I'm a bit flexible at this point with that, but I'm setting my sights on Monday.
Again, PLEASE nobody change any plans on my account. ANYTHING can happen with our current situation at a moment's noticee.
