Thanks for the reply.... now how about this... I just pulled out my PT Jr and the dead C02 cartridge won't come out of the damn thing... any thoughts O' great paintball players????

I don't see too many GT2000's when I play... but it has served me well... basically a sypder clone with a few changes... the biggest being that every O-ring in the gun is the same size... which is the same that goes on the C02 tank...
Best part was I bought it off EBAY for $60 a few years ago!! I added the thermal expansion chamber, the DYE grips, system X drop forward and the pressure gauge... the two aftermarket barrels you see there came with it...
The PT I bought for $80 new at a local gun shop getting out of the PB business....![]()
well i understand that but i was just making a comment about nate's shooting people up w/ his spyder. im not sure which gun im gonna use ..i am borrowing a gun from my friend that runs xfire paintball but it will be a real fast gun. which in the woods wont help me much but i sold all my shit so it'll work. it will either be a autococker or a timmy both w/ hair triggers and every mod you can do to themOriginally posted by nefarious
doesnt matter what your using, numbers like 28bps are theoretical, and even cheater boards are capped at 15bps in any of the assisted modes. so what ya have hot shot?
fair enough...
still got a good deal on a ton o gear

yeah i laugh pretty good at the guys who spend a bunch of cash on scopes sites lazers and camo![]()
i guess they don't realize that the first shot they take will give them away to every one else
besides hiding in the bushes for an hour is fun like watching paint dry

ill tell ya what... ill be in my bright reds, with my bright gold gun and will see who get who first and more often... these are paintballs not bullets, extra long barrel does next to nothing to improve the effective distance of a marker, and about the same for accuraccy... all that really matters in a good paint to barrel match... scopes, sights, lasers all just serve to make the owner look like a tool. ad to that most of these would be snipers are runnng Co2 which [sarcasim] does wonders for consistancy [/sarcasim] so "HAHAHA"

thats fine when your talking 100-200 yards... what do you think the effective range of a paintball is? add to that the use of cheap, settled or dimpled paint and again... the so called paintball sniper is a joke.

yeah snipers are non existent in paintball
look at my pic of my 98 i run a flatline barrel which puts a backspin on the ball
its supposed to go out a certain distance then rise up where the normal ball drops off, some times it does and then sometimes it goes left-right-or down
this actually works great because it is consistently inconsistent (tough to explain)
but anyway there is NO WAY THAT ANY GUN could be spot on all the time, factors like the laws of physics dont allow it and around hear we obied by the laws of physics![]()

PGPs are fun.
Heavy is good, heavy is reliable. If it doesn't work you can always hit them with it
I'd be up for some stock class fun. Got out of the pball arms race when they started up with the full autos. Takes all the fun out of the game for me. Get everyone out there with a gravity feed tube and a few 12 grams and you see who can actually shoot...
does that mean you are going to join us?
Oh, err, no...aside from my distaste for the modern paintball arsenal, there's also the matter that I'll be in England on the 26th.Originally posted by Punjistick

But when the weather warms up to the point that my CO2 tank doesn't spit liquid and shoot hot, I'd dust off my old razorback and play if anyone knows of pump games in the area. No semi since my cocker got stolen back in 99 and no real intention of buying another...
the word "sniper" on most paintball forums is equivelant to the word "stunta" on this forum (aka frowned upon).
Why well i can't add a whole lot because fasterthanu already pretty much covered it. Longer barrels mean diddly squat for accuracy and range, again barrel size to paintball is key. Sure you can crank up the pressure for distance, but you sacrifice accuracy severely and risk spraying (blowing the paintball due to high pressue in the marker). I mean techically i could use a damn pump gun and as long as i find paint that matches the barrel and can pretty much out "snipe" most of those idiots who walk around with 24" barrels/sights/etc.
When i was paintballing on a weekly basis and attending small tournaments at boston paintball unless the guy was a complete newb you would never see anyone "sniping" with us. Even when playing woodsball every now and then my barrel setup on my autococker consisted of a 12" or 14" Freak barrel system with inserts for different sized paint. For its time it was one of the better barrel systems on the market, even with that the paint was never 100% accurate.

Snipers are a joke. Hell even I know that and I haven't even been paintballing. They are too afraid of being shot and getting up where the action is. Snipers are just peolple who fantacise
about being an army ranger, navy seal etc. I realize that in this case they actually were or at least told you they were seals.
My brother has a ton of paintball vids on his computer made by this guy who knows a ton about paintball and has been in the sport since it was invented. I just watched an esipode where he took different guns and barrels (both old and new, cheap & expensive) and tested them to debunk some of the myths regarding them. Like how the $800 guns will shoot farther than say a $200, or a longer barrel shoots further than say a shorter, etc. All of them landed within 25 ft of each other.

you sure about that??? according to boss hoggs laws of physic's theory, a spyder with 40" barrel with 2 remote co2 tanks would whoop any gun thats work 1k+.Originally posted by nefarious

only reason that spyder is no longer bottom of the barrel is because so many other companies are jumping on the sucess of paintball. frankly my girl and her ion will walk all over you and you spyder![]()

how many people does it take to rent it private? someone find out all the details and i'll see how many people i can scrounge up to play
we can do private with as little as 10 people. and if we want we can always mix it up with the open group...

Boss Hogg, your ideas of "Newtonian Law" need some clarification.
Your idea of physics could only work in a frictionless world. The longer the barrel, after about 16 or so inches, will not give any improved accuracy. If anything, it will only hurt your range and air efficiency. You will need to turn your velocity up to meet the 280fps that could easily be reached with a lower velocity from a shorter barrel. The simple fact is that you will not receive any more accuracy from a longer barrel and will just be wasting air to get your ball to go as far as a shorter barrel. Also, think about practicality. Do you really think that running around diving behind bunkers with a 20-inch barrel will be easy compared to a 12 or 14-inch barrel?
What in the hell is the point of having a gun that can shoot 780fps? No field ever would allow a velocity that high and no one will play with you since goggles only protect to around 300fps until you have to replace the lenses. I don't even think a paintball can travel that fast without falling apart.
There are no snipers in paintball: snipers use bullets and paintball players use round(not accurate) balls filled with a liquid that is spinning in what ever the hell direction it wants, and which is very easily moved by the wind.
Oh and paintball is not about elimination and last man standing, it’s a game of capture the flag…. Just not always with a flag.
So go ahead and be a sniper and follow other players around (I bet those Seals loved you) and leave more action upfront for me and let me do all the work while you are safely out of range.
