With the help of Bob and Brad, the knees are working again, I can walk and climb stairs. I just have to be careful not to twist them, that seems to be the problem.

The V85 is more upright than my other bikes, so I got out yesterday for 200 miles, a scenic central MA ride around the Quabbin with a stop at the Petersham Country store. Empty roads for the most part, not so much inside 495, though. Temps 58*~72*

Today I took the ZRX out for a couple of hours to warm the oil for end-of-year oil and filter change, some of the usual routes I take through Concord, Carlisle, Acton MA, with the usual return blast on Route 2. Monday I went out on the V85 [EDIT: 2020 Moto Guzzi V85TT Adventure] for a few hours, 150 miles, nice roads in Central MA. My usual coffee etc. stop in Petersham, then decided it was looking cloudy and colder in the direction of NH, so I took 32A south through Hardwick, then over to Oakham, new pavement on Cold Brook Road, Barre, Princeton ... and home. Sunny and 50s is fine with layers, as it gets colder I'll plug in the heated gear. Much less traffic weekdays than weekends IME.

I took my WR250R and XSR900 to a small 1-mile track called Horse Thief Mile at Willow Springs International Raceway. Had some fun with my buddy recording on a '20 Street Triple RS
Here's the WRR with a little slide on exit:
And here's some goofing off with the XSR late in the day, trying to get some decent wheelie pics for the photographer in the green shirt:
I had a wetland job in Effingham yesterday, lot of bikes on 153, at the time of day I was travelling, more bikes than cars, getting in that last ride for season

Rode ~500 miles north to check out some small telescope. The road leading up to the observatory was fun. Put the auxiliary lights and heated gear to proper use

Years ago Swiftone and I rode over 500 miles in a day on either a Seacoast ride or a DucDave ride. The most impressive thing was he did it two-up with his girlfriend on an RC-51. She nearly fell off the back on the way home (on I-93 at about 80mph!) as she started to nod off. We got off at the next exit for a break before anything bad happened.
What's the difference between a bolt and a screw?
First you screw, then you bolt.
On another note: I saw someone on a BMW RG-whatever heading south on 93 Friday afternoon around 4:00. Impressed!
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
Not today, but iI did 600 miles in one day, a "few" years back, heading to the Gaspe for a week, great trip.

That was more geared breakdirt. I'm surprised he's so surprised at a 500 mile day. Not that it's the norm for me, but I routinely do 250-300 days. Shit, my wife & I used to do +/- 400 mile days just to grab lunch at the Latham Diner in NY state (from Manchester, NH) on my old RF900R.
A few of us old farts have been talking about a m/c trip SOMEWHERE, and 500 mile days are what we're talking about breaking it down to. Albeit I'll be on my Street Glide with many modern day vehicle conveniences.

5,700 miles in 14 days cross country in 2012.
Leave Boston at 3AM, dinner in Niles, MI at 8:30 PM on my SS1000 in 2014.
Several 400+ days this summer in and around Maine.
Back in the group ride days, 300+ was common.
2021 ride report: 8200 miles total, off my usual pace d.t. my knee "issues" in June and October. Knees are feeling good now, and I sprung for Leatt knee braces.
