I love taking the big honkin GS to Costco.
I posted in the Best of Craigslist thread about it. The seller took it to a shop to have the 60k service performed and while they performed the service, they then told him the bottom end was about to fail due to a noise it's making. The seller noted the noise was there for years and tens of thousands of miles with no other issues besides the noise so he dumped it cheap thinking the motor is bad and wanted it to go to someone on the local forum who would use it. My plan is to tear it down for parts to keep my other two Tigers running; however, now that I have it, I am 99% sure the noise is just the alternator.
Took the guzzi out into nipmunk state forest in CT and also checked out the grounds for this weekends snowmobile water skip in stafford springs.
ah, man, my boys would love to watch that. thanks for the heads up!
i rode those trails 20 years ago for the Doug Henry 'Ride with a Pro' off-road event, had a blast. would love to have that property. they held that event after the pro Supermoto races at Stafford Springs. goodTimes.

If I had time to go to the water skip I certainly would. They are expecting a massive turn out this year. And I think it might actually be in union, not Stafford springs. Only a couple miles off 84 on 190.

Yesterday I spent the day riding skyline blvd, Saratoga gap and a few other of my new favorite roads… Black Rd, Bear Canyon Rd, Gist Rd.. pretty epic compared to riding in the northeast.

Did you stop at Alices? I saw there was a lot of police there this weekend cracking down.
I haven’t made it to Alice’s yet, I’ve just been exploring so far. There was an accident on the 9 heading into Saratoga that had the road closed for a while.
I’m going to head out shortly for some more exploring.

Was in San Fran over a decade ago with an ex. Rented a tiger 1050 lane split outta town to the PCH and headed to Santa Cruz. Hit Alice's and took Skyline back as the sun went down. Was over the city at dusk and it was absolutely gorgeous. One road was basically a paved single track through the red woods was dragging pegs due to the elevation changes. Probably my favorite day on 2 wheels I've ever had. I'm a bit jealous you live in the heart of it. Congrats!

I can resist everything but Pete's mom.
There's a lot to check out, and on some days will stand out above others and just become epic.
you can generally ride year round too, and add a nightly stay at a hotel or 2, or a night under a tent, and the radius gives you even more to explore
glad to see you're having fun exploring!
did you bring any dirt bikes?

I’m amazed at how little traffic there is on the mountain roads. I’ll venture out further on my next trip, and hopefully even more over the winter.
I didn’t bring a dirtbike, but did ship the YFZ450R quad out here. Next time I’ll get the off-road sticker for it and check things out.

Here I was wondering if I had maybe ridden any of that back in '14 on my loop from San Diego through Yosemite and back via Death Valley. Then I realized ya'll aren't even talking about that part of the state!
I think this was somewhere west of Fresno.
I just loved riding in CA. The drivers too. Felt like every time I was on the freeway and even had a *thought* about changing lanes there was already a car making space for me when I checked my mirrors. Such a harsh contrast to the no-eye-contact, fuck you and your mother mindset of the greater Boston area.
doctor visit in Portsmouth, rode my AK550, wish I drove my truck with AC, too hot to ride
