:topic::wtf: is up with the squirrels this year,I had over 20 of them do the "Dance of death" in front me today, I missed all of them but they seem nuttier this year:dunno: one of them changed direction 5 times before he got off the road.

I managed 65 or 70 today, I'm pretty happy with the way the weekend turned out.
Yeah, I've heard that the squirrels are being over active cause its going to be a bad winter and they're getting ready for it. Not sure if I believe it, but not looking forward to running one over either. I swear there is a fresh squirrel pancake somewhere on my daily drive everyday!
Re: Any rides in RI or Southeastern MA?
we were talking about it on the way back from NH today. It is being dubbed the "Meat Streets" and is heralding a crazy winter.
at least thats the theory of a bunch of overtired downhillers.
If it is sunny this week im down to ride after work...

Had to convince my brother to ride today, headed out on our cruisers about 1pm, mostly two-laners at a good clip, 6 or so stops, got home around 7... almost 300mi.
And "Yes!" the squirrels are really manic, chipmunks too.
Nearly got one yesterday in my truck, my poor dogs almost came into the cab through the slider when I nailed the brakes.
Couldn't even guess how many dead ones seen on the road today.
Re: Any rides in RI or Southeastern MA?
I subscribed to the thread so now I'll get emails when someone posts up to see if others wanna ride!
(Ben, you pass here on your way home where I am on your way home. I'd be down to rip some afternoon!)

I saw a ton today as well, and 3 of them weren't so lucky. I gave up trying to brake/swerve to avoid them...the thump thump you get is probably safer for you and your bike.
I have an odd work schedual this week and may be free during the day for some local rides
Re: Any rides in RI or Southeastern MA?
if anyone is up for it, i am out of class at 2, you all pretty much have my number so text if you wanna go for a ride
Re: Any rides in RI or Southeastern MA?
@ RVT: I've had it since early summer and have already racked up almost 3k on it.
@ Fineout and khuygie: Hopefully I'll bump into you guys over there soon, I have TTh morning classes.
Re: Any rides in RI or Southeastern MA?
Squirrels everywhere around here, lots of turkey too.
Re: Any rides in RI or Southeastern MA?
BTW Carrs Pond Rd (West Greenwich, RI) lots of sand still in the right hand lane in the 90 degree left hander - 90 degree right hander (coming from Division Rd).
Re: Any rides in RI or Southeastern MA?
Anyone going riding today?
Re: Any rides in RI or Southeastern MA?
Shawn, I'll meet you someplace if you'd like.
Need a little time, haven't douched yet, but that doesn't take long...
Sending PM. http://www.nestreetriders.com/forum/...ons/icon14.gif
Re: Any rides in RI or Southeastern MA?
Meeting at the gansett towers at 1, not sure where to yet, if you want to ride today, come meet us
Re: Any rides in RI or Southeastern MA?
Shawn, texted you. Will be out but will be riding 1-up,so I gotta get comfortable with that (been a while, and not much on this bike) I'll probably ride down 1A towards the wall, lame, boring, safe haha.
Re: Any rides in RI or Southeastern MA?
I may be in for a quick ride, I have some errands to run first.
If I'm not there by 1 (white/red R1), chances are I got tied up and couldn't make it.
This is what you're calling the towers I'm guessing?

Re: Any rides in RI or Southeastern MA?
My guess is that he is talking about that or the "Tower" at Tower Hill Rd (Rt. 1) at Bridgetown road?

My bad, I started the whole 'Tower' thing in the first place... should have been more specific...http://www.nestreetriders.com/forum/...cons/icon9.gif
For future reference can we all agree that the rendezvous point used is known as The Coast Guard House? http://www.nestreetriders.com/forum/...ons/icon11.gif
