Meet Time: 9:30 AM Sharp Departure.
Breakfast should be at 8 if you want to eat here and still make the ride, we will not wait if your still eating.
Meet spot: Friendly's Restaurant in Westfield
- straight across from the Massachusetts Turnpike exit 3
SO take Exit 3 from any direction at the off ramp go straight across at the lights into the Friendly's parking lot! Easy!!!!
Advice::: Show up at Friendly's prepaired for the day... there is a gas station seconds from Friendly's, fill up prior to pulling in and hanging out, come time to ride we will not be waiting while you forgot to fill up.... Sorry there are a lot of people to keep happy so the ride must go on.....
Again there are going to be a lot of people showing up so be prompt and make sure you eat, fuel up an have $ on you for everything you need for the day. It would be wise to bring a clear shield as well in case your ride home is in the dark.. Cleaning solution and a rag to wash you shied during the day is good to have also. Definately bring a map of N.E. that covers most of Mass, southern VT and possibly even NH so just in case you do get lost you can find your way home or back to our group....
Dress for the ride, this is not a look cool ride. I will be wearing full leathers as I always do.... Most people on the board will make fun of those that show up for a ride like this in only a T-Shirt and shorts. I'll tel you now I do not want to ride with those people in my group. The last thing I want to do is scrape skin off the pavement if you go down.... Actuall I just wont do it...![]()
Please read the grou pride rules carefully and follow them.. Here are a few quick tips...
Come prepaired to have an enjoyable day riding with with a great group. This is not going to be a fast riding day, just a fun day with lots of good people. Be courteous to those riders around you. If you see people on your tail in corners all the time, they are most likely faster riders than you. Be kind and wave them ahead of you in a safe spot, like a straight away. they will not hold you up come the next corners so you can still enjoy the same ride. If you are an arrigant " Think you better than everyone" and don't let people by they will have a day annoyed because you held them up, or they will make an aggressive attempt to pass you and possibly make a dangerous situation.
Please lets avoid this type of situation. NEVER EVER PASS IN A CORNER ON THE INSIDE OR THE OUTSIDE... I dont care if you can see around the person and down the road 10 miles... Just do not do it.... It could freak the person your passing out big time and cause a crash......
Ok, Now more details to come. I posted a ride this Sunday to plan out routes, and find a place to met for lunch anyone is welcome to go. Just be prepaired it is going to be a fly by night plan as to where we are going. there may be a few times we stop mid route and re-route sanother direction, and we could be stopping at multiple locations to se if they can handle a large lunch group come the 24rth..
Keep an eye out for more details over the next week and a half...
Anyone else have suggetions they would like to put out there?

Ride your own ride. Dont try and keep up to the faster riders if you are not that expirienced. I nor should anyone else mind waiting for you at the next turn or intersection for a few mins while you ride at your pace. I dont wanna see any accidents and riding above your ability is sure to cause one.

i dont have a motorcycle jacket to wear. i usually just dress warm and wear my helmet and gloves.is that ok?
Hey man its your skin..................... wear what you want to. But keep this in mind a 1/2 way decent riding jacket wether it be leather or textile might run you a couple hundred bucks , but it will keep the skin on your back so you can return to work to pay for it.
Forthe cheap way out buy one of those mesh jackets, joe rocket has one out that is armored in the shoulders, back elbows and comes with a waterproof liner. they run $129 from a bike shop so probably cheaper online.

At major route changes, wait for the guy behind you. Whether or not the group is broken up. Its 100% likely that most people wont know the roads they are riding, so at any change of direction, if the person ahead of you waits for you, you'll know where you're going, and if you wait for the guy behind you, he/she will know where they are going.
With a group this large, should would be pulling out from stop signs/intersections, etc, are we going to have someone pull out to direct/stop traffic so the group can proceed, or are we going to let the group get spread out between cages?
The largest ride I've been on thus far was 13 bikes, and generally pulling out from spots 01yzf (Rob) would pull out (cross his fingers) and stop traffic and get everyone out in one group so we could stay together. Whats the protocol going to be for this? Or are we going to brake down into smaller groups to simplify things, so you just stay with your group of 5-12 people and not be concerned with the groups ahead/behind you, you all have the same destination?![]()
Mike-I thought I read somewhere you'd be putting together a map of the route(s). Any chance you can email that to me. Cheryl & I are planning on riding that day and MAY try to catch up with all ya'll at some point in your ride. Thanks slit!

Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
Reiobard and I are going to be travelling pretty far to get to the start point, so we were thinking that we would break off and head home at some point during the ride. Is there going to be any sort of signal that says, "I'm going home, do not follow me," or shall we keep it to fuel stops and food breaks?
Oh, and xvrider, please PM me the info to the motel you guys are staying at...looks like we'll be showing up late Fri night and need a room.

Mike.. I don't know how organized or non organized you want this ride to be but you might suggest everyone that is going post a list of an emergency number and their liscense plate number so if something should happen someone can be notified. I say a liscense plate number because I myself know very few of the peeps that are going to be on the ride and I'm sure there will be plenty of duplicate model bikes. Also I don't know how you want to run the groups if you want to ID the leader and sweepers before the ride starts. I also have a couple of velcro style orange vests if you want me to bring em in for the leaders or sweepers to wear.. although that's kinda pushing it a bit.. LOL

Jeff that little manuever is acctually illegal, but I have seen it done. Cagers can get really pissed and call the cops and in turn could cause problems.
We will be running smaller groups and the chance of getting seperated is low. Groups of 5 to 8 is a good size group I think, any more than that gets hard to keep together.
Groups will leave the first meet at 10 minute intervals and when gas stops are involved and groups end up at the same spot we will have to spread departures 10 minutes again. Please do not jump into another group because you feel like it or just because your ready to go at the time... Either somebody may be looking for you later and not know you left with a nother group but instead possibly crashed??? This could cause a lot of problems & concern for nothing..
Switching groups will probably not be easy to do mid day, just try your adjust your position within a group in order to enjoy the ride. Only pass when gestured to go, or move up come time to fuel up courtiously....

VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!
Seems the portion in VT just before the lunch stop is messed up, they will be adjusting it and posting the details later tonight. They are still in VT now.
Can someone make copies of at least 15-20 of these details so group leaders and sweeps will have copies and bring them to Friendly's in the AM.
Thanks in advance.
