Re: STN meet and greet ride 4/26/08
Why don't we just have 10 - 15 different meet spots from hampton beach all the way down to great barrington. that way there no one ever has to ride alone for more than 1/2 and hour and we can sample the coffee and gas at as many different places as possible and put up a review at the end of it all.
Seriously though, the more meet spots there are, the more potential for groups being late to the next one. It takes a lot to get a group going and keep it on schedule in order to make the "big meet" on time. the larger it gets , the longer it takes. When I say that we will be leaving the 202/2 spot no later than 9:30 , thats what I mean.

Re: STN meet and greet ride 4/26/08
What's the problem if scattered groups of 3 or 4 riders wish to meet up before we all arrive at Citgo?
The Bud Plant group (if any) isn't stopping for anything other than Citgo.
The fashion in which everyone arrives at Citgo isn't the issue so lang as everyone's on time...:dunno:

Re: STN meet and greet ride 4/26/08
im off that weekend I would like to go depends on the weather. IM in gardner not far from rindge so the meet is no issue, however for those who have not made the trip from 202 in rindge... 202 if heading through winchendon, ma... then tmepleotn, ma, into athol, ornage etc.... I believe you cross rte two in tmepleton, athol and orange... so where on 202 is the second meeting place?

That might be cutting it a little close...to get to the Citgo by 8:30. Suggest leaving at 7:00....better too early than too late!

I thought the leave time from Citgo was 9:15?

1st meeting place is Rt 202 and 119 in Rindge NH, leaving at ~830 heading to 2nd meeting spot at 202 South and RT 2. From there we can break in to groups and pick routes to Great Barrington. Probably leave there around 915 or so.
Confused...

If you follow the dates this is an UPDATED post. The original in STN was from a month or so ago. I sent a note to Keith to update that to cut down on any confusion.
Also I agree with Sean that if you make a bunch of meeting places you got a better chance of missing ours. Not that it matters cause on this ride the meeting spot after lunch is the goal. If you get to the Citgo and we are not there head to GB on your own and see you at the Price Chooper.

Well...there are a few of us leaving from Nashua/ManchVegas/Bedford. It just makes it a little more entertaining to leave together.
So - Paul, as I suggested, leave Bud at 7:00 sharp and we should make the Citgo at Rt 202 and 119 by 8:30!
(Still a probable...don't wait for me...!)

Re: STN meet and greet ride 4/26/08
There's been a change in my schedule and I'm currently "tentative" for this ride.
I'll still show at the Bud plant as planned but, depending on how it all unfolds, it's likely I'll be trailering a bike home on Saturday. I'll know more tomorrow.
Dave- You have e-mail.

Re: STN meet and greet ride 4/26/08
I have to be home at noon because I have someone coming to buy my quad. :mecry: They can't move the day/time because they have a truck rented.
I could roll with you from 202/2 for a bit, obviously can't do the whole day. If you're cool w/ that, let me know which route 2 exit: 16 or 19.

More pictures from an STN member: Audifans Photo Gallery :: Great Barrington Ride 04/26/08
They say there was about 65 bikes total. About every make/model was represented, there was even one Harley Davidson and what appeared to be a dirtbike...LOL This link shows a picture of about just every bike in that big group!

If you guys are leaving from NH, that's not in my area at.all.
Where do you go after Great Bari? Going back towards NH?
15 over in the CORNERS! NOT the straights. :)

He clocked me at 52 in a 35 zone in a tight corner...that's 17 over. ;) Still, didn't feel like I was going that speed at all. :mope: (I'm talking about my other post getting pulled over after loosing my speedo cable on Friday)

Re: STN meet and greet ride 4/26/08
Turned out to be a great day for a ride. Helluva turnout at Vince's. Must be the food? With some bikes coming/going, overall count of attendees is nearer to 70 bikes. Good on Keith for planning another successful get together.
BTW, Vince is the trail boss for the upcoming 3-State dual-sport/adventure ride on May 18th.

Fun ride. But I thought the pace of the medium speed group was a bit slow, I should have gone with theothersean's group. I can't believe how many V-Stroms there were. The flat black one looked straight out ot The Road Warrior. Here's some pics.

Arg, I bailed on this thinking paces would be too high for my comfort zone - never like feeling 'pushed' in a group. Next time, will have another yellow GS to match yours :)

Our group was a bit slow also (well for us anyway), my husband said he dozed off a few times, kinda like being on "cruise control" and our friend who was riding with his GF felt the same way. On a warmer day I would have appreciated more speed, but on that ride it was so chilly that going slower was a good thing. Thanks to one of the fellow riders, I kept much warmer after he landed me his rain pants..what a nice gentleman. :) It was a very nice ride tho, I'm so glad I went.

Special thanks to Sean, Lea, L.T. and the guy on the ZX-6 (sorry terrible with names) for the spirited ride through the Pioneer Valley.
That's okay Pat. I'm bad with names too.
