    New Stonnerstock Format?

    Okay, as most of you know, Saturday during Rally & Race Week is the big digs. For those of you who aren't in the know, it's the day before Father's Day. Even though this really lasts the whole week, Saturday is the day of the big cookout and big turnout...

    In the past we've had a 'Grub List' sign up where as people would volunteer to bring things from a list we'd put up on the 'net. Problem with this is that if certain people don't show, we're outta luck. Another problem is people not bringing enough of whatever it was they signed up for. The biggest depriment to this was weather. If the weather isn't what people liked, they wouldn't show. Made for a big problem come time for the cookout if they signed up for something...

    So we're looking for suggestions on how to run it a bit smoother this year. We're not looking for handouts or anything like that. We like the idea of the 'Grub List'. We started doing that after people started insisting on bringing stuff...

    Any ideas?

    SUCKS !

    The grub list was such a good idea, just wish people would stick to there word or at least call to say they are not comming. With any grocery store being 1/2 hour away this is for the no shows or calls

    I agree Ed. It does suck when that happens. Which is why we're looking for suggestions this year. The other big problem is people signing up for something, then asking US to go pick it up for them. It kinda defeats the purpose of that whole platform. Ya know?

    What people seem to fail to understand (especially those that come by bike only) is that nothing is more than 30 minutes away. Another thing that seems to elude them is that they can strap just about anything to a sportbike if done properly...

    We haven't abandoned the 'Grub List' all together yet. We're just trying to find a more efficient way of doing it. We narrowly diverted a disaster last year, if ya'll remember. We're just trying to run it more smoothly this year...

    We'll address the clean-up issues later....

    Okay well I'm going to bring probaly 40lbs of ribs(easily maybe more) I've got the BBQ sauce too, I'll be there no matter what this year. Whether by bike or by truck I will be there

    You just gotta tell everybody what's up, if they think there not gonna show then they shouldn't say they are. Or if somebody says they're gonna bring something they send you the money then if they show they get thier deposit back

    I can bring about 30 to 40 pounds of pre-made hamburgers but I'll have to bum a ride up with Beet the week before if that's okay with him. I'll be coming up on Friday nite after work, and leave late Sat to be home for Fathers Day. I came up last year(caged with family intow) to the track on Fathers Day and froze my ass off. Looking forward to the festivities.

    Last year my intent was to show up make new friends, put my emptys in the trash and leave quietly.

    This year; LOOK OUT!!

    I'm comin' back to clean up too. Jay and Cheryl are gracious enough to host this, It's the least we can do.

    As for the grub list, Jay, you know there are the seasoned veterans you can count on.
    I think I'll make more pasta salad this year.

    Well, being the guy who does the cookin at STONERSTOCK!

    My opinion for what its worth is this:

    You already know who the "regular, reliable" people are.
    So have them sign up for the important stuff.
    Hotdogs & buns
    Hamburgers & Buns
    Pasta salad
    potato salad

    The rest is all good stuff to have, but is not as important if it doesn't show up. So have the "newbies" or "not so sure" people sign up for other stuff.

    Also remember. It is a BRING YOUR OWN ALCOHOL , there is a gas station 15 min down the road to buy beer.
    The average size tank bag can fit atleast a 12pack.

    In the past i've contributed in other ways and not the grub list, band stage, burnout boards but this year i'll sign up for something on the grub list as, well, you know i'm guaranteed to be there

    Anyone coming from the RI area and needs me to bring up their contributions for the party, i'll have PLENTY of room so let me know if you're interested. As of now, my plans are to leave Wednesday after work, prolly around 6pm or so. I can't wait for this
