I just checked out your tentative route and I MUST suggest one change! DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT follow rt 32 out of ATHOL! This road is in TERRIBLE condition! They are suppose to resurface it this year but as of now they have not.
I would suggest once you get into Athol, to follow 2A W out to rt 78 N, then onto Rt 10. From there you could get onto rt 119 and check back onto 32, or continue following 10 right into Keene. One other minor problem, Main St Athol, is torn to shreds so beware of the dirt trail through the center of town (2A)

KillBill- If you would like I could meet up with you in Athol, take you some other back roads up into Keene. If you're leaving Holden around 10ish I can assume you'll be rolling down rt 32 approx 11 am. Once you turn onto rt32 in Petersham you'll go a few miles and come to a blinking red light and on the left will be Athol High School. I could wait there for you all and lead you to Keene. From there hand the reigns back over to you........just a thought
