bout 40 min...fastest way is to go to the Williston Exit, and take 22a into Hinesburg...then take Silver St road out to Monkton...that will save you 10-12 min.

Re: VT: Friday 8/22 EP and T Rd
hey, can you guys do some exploring for me
I'm planning my trip to Illion gorge next weekend, looking at a shortcut from North Hudson to Long Lake, on my Delorme.....Boreas Road, I been in other direction between Horth Hudson & Ticonderoga, dirt. I'm hoping boreas road is dirt too
-
Re: VT: Friday 8/22 EP and T Rd
Something tells me this bunch isn't going to go looking for a dirt road, Randy.
But that said, the most direct route from North Hudson to Long Lake would be Blue Ridge Rd (NY Rt 84) to 28N. Really nice road, but not dirt.

Re: VT: Friday 8/22 EP and T Rd
Just did that ride last weekend. Route 28 through Old Forge was boring and had tons of RV/Camper Traffic. From Long Lake take rt. 30 to rt. 8 and then hit Rt. 10, lots of twisties and no traffic. From there swing over to Herkimer on 29A and 28.
By the way. Illion Gorge was OK. Not as nice or as long as T____ rd and E_____ rd.
We took rt. 10 all the way to Stamford NY and then road Rt. 23 into the Catskill Mt. Park. Spent the weekend riding around the mountains and reservoirs. Great roads, lots of twisties, and really good pavement.

Oh.
I, uh, meant my solo ride home. Came upon a 75 year old dude who just had his boat & trailer pop off the ball hitch on his truck. His safety chains saved it from ending up in a field.
But pm MotoFreak anyway; he's lonely.

Nice save. ;) But losing a trailer like that would definitely suck... and not just for its owner.

Re: VT: Friday 8/22 EP and T Rd
Yeah, I texted him, with no response.
I think they're just doing this to fuck with those of us who couldn't make the ride.

I really hope not.
But if so, at least we know he's okay himself.

ya, that's the road, my delorme has it labeled as Essex County RT 2/Boreas Road, last time I was there, I guess that's why I couldn't find it

Re: VT: Friday 8/22 EP and T Rd
no no it was me. I trashed the gixxer. spectacular high side, followed by me road testing the alpinestars leathers while taking a detailed pavement sample. The bike then cart wheeled into the air, burst into flames mid-flight then slammed down into T******* rd. you'll see the black marks where the pavement boiled. I was trying an experimental fuel mix, rocket fuel, nitromethane and benzene. She was making at least 300hp, but it was way too much. After it slammed down in the road, TimmyB comes over and decides in his hung over semi-conscious state, that his turkey sammich would be far better with toasted bread. He then set himself on fire cuz he didn't realize how hot that beyatch was cookin. The heat was definitely on.
aside from some bug guts, the bike and I are home safe and sound.
what a day. hypothermia in the AM, sweating balls in the afternoon, clammy and sticking to everything in the evening
