So I bought this...

    So I bought this...

    http://www.nomar-secure.com/product_...20ultimate.htm

Or should I say the ex-wife that owed me money for taxes bought this.

Expected delivery is the week after Easter. Hoping to help out friends, not start a business and potentially get screwed over by people I don't know. And yes, I got the right balancer cones for SSSA bikes too.

Kudos to the Nomar ... I hope in the future I can afford one.

Been changing my tires for the last couple of years now with tire spoons, rim protectors and Pledge. I do have a Mark Parnes balancer. Paid itself off with the first tire change.

Those are one of the nicer manual tire changers on the market. Real good company to deal with also.

so... I'll give more details to all you guys at bike night.

but... beer would be OK sometimes, hugs definitely are not my thing, contributions to cover costs of weights/the equipment would be the best thing.

the ex doesn't know she bought this because she really didn't. long convoluted story but her taxes were messed up, so i filed jointly with her to help her out. instead of owing the government money for taxes, she just owes me instead. This was the first chunk of the payback that I got.

    Re: So I bought this...

Picked it up yesterday and got it all assembled. I'm almost ready to start changing tires, I just need to bolt it to the floor.

I tried changing a tire last night without it being bolted to anything, twas not easy but I got it done. Haven't broke out the balancer yet, but thats easier than changing the tire. Let me know anyone needs something switched over.

How is it as far as wheel scratches? I'm thinking it's gonna be a good investment for me, but I don't want my wheels scratched up (I know, anal, but what can i say) and my dealer does a great job of not scratching them

    Re: So I bought this...

The rim clamps are plastic on them. Plus you can buy rim protectors also that you can put on the rim also. I find with the manual changers you are less like to damage the rim because you have more control over what you are doing. I think that the bead breaker on those are good enough to do most ATV tires also.

I think it's actually a lot harder to scratch a wheel on a manual machine because you're acutely aware of how much force is being applied. If you use good technique and keep sand, etc out of the cam blocks it shouldn't scratch anything...
