Just kidding man....
In all seriousness... now that I am also a slimy double posting bas-turd...
I was trying to come up with little 'mini-contest' categories for the bikes that show up to bike night... Figure we can pick one from a hat and I'll buy the winner a slice of pizza. Here is what I have so far... ideas?
- Most Mods on Bike
- Best Safety Gear
- Furthest Distance Ridden to BBN
- Newest Rider (not age, years riding)
- Oldest Rider (not age, years riding)
- Most Custom Paint Job on Bike
- Highest Mileage on Bike
- Most Unique Bike of the Night
Was also thinking we could do the whole Tag-O-Rama slightly modified for bike night.
What do you all think?

Re: Burlington Bike Night (Every Tuesday from 5:30-8pm)
Personally, I don't really think we need to bother with contests. Certainly not on a regular basis.

We keep having people asking when we are going to start doing little things again. I figure if we can do some small stuff without expending too much time or energy then what the hell. Everyone has a little bit of fun.

I'm out for tonight guys.
Looks like the weather should be fine until later tonight tho!
Somebody else will have to roll in with track take-offs mounted and have all the squidly's gawk at your tires thinking you ride that hard on the street... :teehee:
See you next week.

I think that's a great idea, because that way people can't plan on which night to show up on to win a contest, since the contest (if you can call it that) is randomly selected every night. We can get input tonight to try and come up with categories, and maybe make the first Tuesday of the month contest night (or however often you want to do it, I don't want Jason to go broke because he is too nice of a guy to stop buying slices and nobody else steps up). Think we can get Donny's to offer up a free slice every now and then?

Good idea man, Mark, what do you think about doing it first Tuesday or every other week or something then? Might want to do every other as summer is a hair limited in vt haha.....

I like the idea.
I also think Donny's should be willing to throw in a free slice of pizza. That shouldn't be a deal breaker.

Re: Burlington Bike Night (Every Tuesday from 5:30-8pm)
:( in a veritable IT $h1Tstorm of Hellfire right now ... so I doubt I will make it to BTVBN tonight ... I have been at work since 8am yesterday...ugh.
I wanted to bring some more official "badges" for the BTVBN ambassadors, Parker, Adam, MarkBTV, Huffer, Yesterdayze...who else? ) ... just some BTVBN bling/nametag/flair for new arrivals can spot the official greeters of BTVBN.
Maybe next time... if I survive this week...

Cool, TSanterre, Catamount and NobodySpecific. I'm prob missing someone. Do you want a PM with actual names or do you have that covered? Most should be on their profiles.

Sounds good. I'd also suggest keeping it very lighthearted and casual.

That's why I like the idea of not announcing it before hand, that way people can't prepare and show up on a ringer for the category of the night. It keeps it so that anybody has a chance to get some sort of recognition, there is some anticipation (which can build excitement), but there is no pressure to prepare for the night.

Re: Burlington Bike Night (Every Tuesday from 5:30-8pm)
I think the winner should be forced to wear something that identifies them as the winner-of-the-week.
Maybe something like this

Re: Burlington Bike Night (Every Tuesday from 5:30-8pm)

Re: Burlington Bike Night (Every Tuesday from 5:30-8pm)
Oh! The prize should be a slice the following week, not the week of. That way we get them to come back :)

:plusone: Af for the slices of pizza being provided by Donny's, i would like a more concrete plan of what we are doing before we ask them to donate free food. I will talk to them once we have something more set in stone though. I'm crossing my fingers that this works out....it would be soooo cool :D

Re: Burlington Bike Night (Every Tuesday from 5:30-8pm)
Write up:
Excellent Bike Night tonight! More bikes than I thought would show up due to weather forecasting. I'd estimate between 40 and 50 bikes showed up (I forgot to count.....). Anyway, Foster and I got there first with Tommy shortly behind. A few people showed up as we all sat down with food. Conversation was light and fun. Had a new guy all the way from SHARON, VT come on his Triumph. He was very excited to meet new people so I brought him over and introduced him to the table.
Eventually LOTS of bikes showed up in small to medium sized groups. There were small conversations going on all over the place! Overall a great night!
Can't wait till next week!

In support of what I think is a very cool idea, I will spring for a large pizza so you guys can give out more than one prize. That way we don't ask Donny's all the time. It's only 15 or 20 bucks, no big deal. You guys decide on what categories and perhaps some flyer's could magically appear in Parkers possession. Don't forget to have jopo take pics...lots of pics. :beerbang:

Re: Burlington Bike Night (Every Tuesday from 5:30-8pm)
Speaking of pics, I just added a bunch of new ones to an album on the Facebook page called June 28, 2011 (although it is not showing in the newsfeed for some reason).
Tag 'em up.

Sounds good, I'm sure we can get it all worked out! I'll start working with people to get things all set. I can run off more posters if needed. You mentioned you have people that can do posters right? How big can they go? I can only hit 12x18 max where I am on the printers.

You make a good point about the ringers. Perhaps the flyer's could be somewhat vague but still put the word out to attract more people that may be on the fence about showing. Or no flyer's at all and just go with word of mouth.

12x18 is our max as well. I can get larger but it's pricey and will take awhile. If you can get me a file (no frick'in zip drive :teehee:) I can print them myself in a day.
