You should see the $h#t they do in front of my house...

In the rant category of "Holy Crap !!! That is some stupid shit!!"

I live at Fort Ethan Allen & my front porch has a really good view of Rt 15 which I have dubbed "The Motorcycle Mile" ... generally, on a nice day, there is a really good parade of bikes heading out on Rt. 15 out to Essex & beyond ... I know that Green Mountain HD contributes a large share of Harley riders to the parade & Land-Air might as well... in summary, lots of motorcycles, all types... and one or two do some seriously batshit-crazy stunts on their bikes... last night/evening, I was sitting on my porch have a tasty beverage when I heard an obvious competition exhaust in the distance, down by the Camp Johnson entrance, I turned on looked... a rider wearing a nice t-shirt pulling a 65+ MPH wheelie leading a pack of street bikes... definitely a 300+ yd wheelie at a really high rate of speed.

after the initial ..."wow, that's ballsy ..followed by how seriously stupid was that"... (especially the 65+ wheelie through the intersection into Fort Ethan into Barnes Ave)

other than stunts like that... the parade of riders is fun to watch & *hear* ... all of those different exhaust systems...

Note : not that I am against batshit-crazy stunts & excessive speeding, just be aware, that stretch of Rt. 15 has a high rate of accidents, some of the highest traffic rates in Vermont (vehicles/hr), police patrols, & general driver stupidity/buffoonery. I don't go much past the speed limit + 5 on that stretch... I am all about the safety of others that may become inadvertently involved in the aftermath of a crazy stunt in a high traffic area.

A HS buddy lives on the W end of Rt 17.

He says waking up to the sound of sportbikes going by his house at 7am on weekend morning at a high rate of speed is getting a little old. Then the HD's thunder by mid morning. There are a lot of noise complaints.

Dang !! I can't remember. But it was a very stylish bike for sure.

If the rider had been wearing a jacket, it could have been Doc.

Like Garandman's buddy on Rt 17, the late night exhibition of competition exhausts systems along Route 15 by The Fort...can get a little tiring at midnight on a hot summer evening with the open windows... still, not all loud exhausts are motorcycles..

A colleague of mine lives on the fabled "Richmond Road" on the "Richmond Hill", a popular route to Appa Gap, the various sport bike speed passes & cruiser concussive thump-thump parade make interesting viewing in the summer as well. Even Ol' Unkle Pokey McPutt-Putt has been known to rev up past 4K on that section of road...don't worry...I'm still in 2d gear.

even 35-40 years ago when I used to drive that road it was cazy then, usually, I'd take SusieWilson Road & Severance Road, instead to get to my work

I hear all about the fast motorcycles when I visit my Dad, not from him, but from the church supper crowd

Last night sitting on that very same porch...I saw Adam & Foster and the white Harley from Bike Night roar past my place ... at the speed limit and under perfect control.
