I'm finished processing all the pics from the trip, but haven't started writing the ride report yet. In the meantime, here's a preview:

Mark and Keith, your Killboy pics please?
I thought this was a pretty cool shot too.

David was the only one of us who got a worthwhile individual Killboy shot.

What is killboy? Do they just hang out on that part of the twisties and take pic of al the bikers and then you can buy the photos?
Got the estimate from Cyclewise. Total including parts, labor, and sales tax comes to $4,499.39. Now lets see how much my insurance will give me for it.
Mind sharing what the big issue is? That sounds like a lot for a bike you rode home. Gatta be more than cosmetics.
Remember, this was for an insurance claim, so if I were to buy the bike back there are a number of things that could be overlooked.
Gas tank: $831
Speedometer: $581 (just noticed that he put that on there twice, which brings the total under $4,000)
Exhaust: $400
and then it was just a lot of little things, like the mirrors, handlebars, switch assembly, brake pedal, the wiring harness for the speedometer, 3 things that are over $100 each but are just listed as part numbers (I assume brackets and such for the headlight and gauges), the different pieces of the tail, the grab handle, and the subframe is tweaked.
8 hours of labor: $500
Tax: $226
Not everything was destroyed, but they were all tweaked enough that they should be replaced. The main structure of the bike is what somehow escaped damage (like the forks, frame, swingarm, and engine).
It of course would cost me far less to rebuild it, mainly because I would just leave the dent in the tank and rattle can it, same goes for the tail and grab handle. The hard part would be the headlight and speedometer stuff, but I would probably just swap a new front end on there and get some sort of street fighter headlight with an after market speedometer. I have to talk to my insurance company again to find out how much they will give me and how much they want to buy it back first though.
sounds like track bike material to me!
OEM parts prices should be illegal. $831 for a gas tank off a $6000 bike, right.
