Me and a couple guys at work are going on a motorcycle tour of northern VT this weekend. We'll be staying at my parents camp house on Isle La Motte, so all rides will be out from there. We really want to do T-Road, but have no idea which roads would be the most fun to take us there.
Any recommendations to get there and back through NY? Looking for twisty, curvy or scenic routes. And FWIW, I know a lot of the roads in VT already and we'll be hitting many on the way up, so NY mainly.
PM me if you don't want to reveal the good ones, or post up. Thanks.

T Rd is the main one. To get there you can head across the bridge to Rouses Point, follow 9B and 9 down to Keeseville, then take 9N to Keene and 73 south from there. You could also turn off onto 86 in Jay and follow that to Lake Placid, then make a left onto 73. 86 is a fun road when there's no traffic, but unfortunately there usually is.
If you want to go deeper into the Adirondacks, Blue Ridge Rd between Rt 9 and 28N is fun -- very scenic and some nice twisties. And 28N south from there is fun too.
A few of us are going to be over there Sunday as well, heading up through the islands in the morning, then the route I mentioned above to Keene for lunch (ADK Cafe, delicious food!). If you want to join us for the morning, PM me; we'd break off after lunch because we're stopping in at a friend's place. But from Keene it's a short ride over to T Rd.

Thanks for the info Mark, although we were already on route when I got around to reading your reply.
We ended up taking 86 and 73 in and out of Lake Placid, as you said they were pretty busy, but the scenery is incredible! We did find some side roads off 73 however, which were pretty awesome roads. They were all before T road and led us straight to T road.
Ended up riding T road 3 times, what a blast! After hearing about the infamous "turtle", what do I do? Hit it dead on the 2nd run through. That hurt, lucky I wasn't leaned over too far because the bike went all sorts of sideways. Once done, we headed up 9 back towards the islands.
Excellent weekend when nobody crashes and no tickets. Total mileage was a little over 800 miles this weekend.

The flies were so bad between whiteface and lake placid! We kept trying to stop on the pull offs for lunch and getting driven away by swarms of flies! Much more fun on the bikes.
