Whats up everyone,
Just got back from my first wreck down on Spear St. Got a little too aggressive in the twisties by Covered Bridge Rd, hit some sand, and subsequently stuffed my poor old VF500F into the guard rail. Somehow, (not really somehow, I was riding ATGATT) I have managed to return unscathed. She still runs, but is banged up, and the front tire I just got mounted is flat, so I can't ride her back.
I was wondering if somebody could help me by helping me nab my bike off the side of the road where I left it. I know its a huge pain in the ass (the bike is 17.5mi outside burlington), but I can barely afford the tow truck so I thought I'd ask. 25 bones to the volunteer for being so kind.
I feel like I just burned a hole in my own heart (I'm sure I'll feel the hole in my wallet once I get to work on her).
Thanks in advance,
Pat

I'm assuming you mean Burlington, VT? Sorry about your fall dude.
P easy, I'm really sorry to hear about this! I know you love that bike.
Let me see if I can help you round someone up. I also have a utility trailer you could borrow if you happen to have a 1 7/8" ball hitch and want to go get it yourself.
If you can't find someone by 6pm, I should be able to get home and hook up my trailer and help. Can it wait that long?
Nice job on ATGATT btw.
Yes, he is in Burlington, Vermont.

Update: Doc is going to help you out. You have PM.
It might be worth giving Motofreak a call. PM me for his number if you don't have it. It's not too far from Monkton and if you're lucky he might be kicking around. I won't be off work until late tonight or I'd offer a ride. If you need ramps or straps have him call me.

Doc, I'm on the way on Shelburne Road. Could meet you guys on Spear St. when you head out. Give a call if you need another set of hands.
Yea sorry about the burlington confusion, guys I'm in VT.
I think I have access to a vehicle with a ball hitch, have to double check.
Surprisingly the she still runs, I got her to start after a few minutes of dinkin around with the shifter and stuff. I haven't given up on her yet, as most of the things I messed up in the fall were cosmetics that I already was planning to fix. Can't give up on a V4 that easy!
I really appreciate the quick responses everyone, I'm a little shook up but I can't be thankful enough that I'm OK. Glad I could pop the cherry so smoothly.
thanks everybody,
Pat
I take it you are going to need a place to work on it.![]()

Once again thanks everybody for the replies means a lot since 2 motorcyclists drove by and all they did was honk at my noob ass, while about 6 cagers stopped to see if I was OK.
Doc is gonna help me out so thanks for the other offers, but I think he and I have got it covered.
Bike is here at my house. P is gonna need a front rim and tire. He is none the worse for wear and in good spirits.
Thanks for the![]()

Glad you're okay man, and glad there is such and awesome community here to help you out!
Good on ya Doc. I was in and out this afternoon and worked all day, else I would have been all over it. Glad you're ok Pat! From the sounds of it, the Viffer will be back on the road soon! I wish I could say they get better after the first one, but crashing sucks, period. As long as you walk away with some knowledge, you'll be all set! Get back in the saddle soon.
