last i heard was the Hobbs Hauler was out. i WANT to go but dont think i will be able to do the whole week thing. i might have to do TTD, come back, work a few days, then drive down to FL (if i go). if thats the case, i might be able to haul another bike, maybe more, depending on what im driving.
car= 2 bikes on lightweight trailer (20+ MPG)
truck=at least 4 bikes. (2 in back, 2 in enclosed trailer(10MPG))
When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...

The plan is to head to NJ on Sunday October 12 for the Monday's TTD.
It would be nice to head out Tuesday bright and early to get to Florida later on that day. 15.5 hours.
I will need a list of those who will be attending the TTD so we can pack accordingly.

I'm estimatimating at a minium of $250 for gas + toll per bike/gear baring no one back out.
Anyone have a 20 foot trailer with a 350? What do you get for Gas MPG? I'm guessing 5 MPG fully loaded.

My budget just isn't going to allow it this time around. I'm going to try and cram a school/TD or two in instead.

There is a good chance that Jay is out. He is currently looking for a bike to take to Daytona and things are not falling in his favor.
In talking with Jay he mentioned that if the spot can fill to move forward with it. Hense the 2 spots open.
Someone lend Jay your bike so he can go.

Yea CCS charges you right away... unlike LRRS which waits a week before the event. Try pre-entering for the season (CCS & ASRA) in March...thats a big nut to have to take just as the season is begining...and in one lump sum.
SG
PS Grids (for those that dont know) are set by your regional championship points. Not exactly sure how they grid LRRS Novices in the Amatuer races..... I assume they take your points and apply them to amatuer.
Other regions of CCS use a different point payout that LRRS, so experts are generally gridded by Championship finish (usually as of points accumulated by Mid Sept). So a guy in Texas with CMRA (ccs affiliate) wins (or is leading) a regional championship with a total of 624 points in EXPERT LWSS, and say Rick Duocette is entered with a regional championship in LWSS (or is leading) with 124 points. They take all the first place guys and randomly grid them at the front, then all the 2nd place guys, 3rd place etc. and so on.
Its important to know this..because if you are doing well in a certain class... and you dont enter it and choose to enter a class you only rode once...then you grid is going to suffer.

Denno, You in or out?
I'm going to start looking elsewhere to begin filling in the blanks. Right now 2 and a good chance of 3 open spots.
If I get desperate I'll start hitting TTD board to help reduce the cost a little.
On a side note.
Do I need to pick up a transmitter or will they provide me one like LRRS does?
BTW
What is the Extra Group for $100 in the Team Hammer Pactice?
Practice (for licensed racers entered in associated race event) $175
Extra Group $100

CCS provides Transmitters. You will need to buy a bracket at registration as they are not the AMB ones we use.
Just curious, Have you put 10 bikes in a 20 trailer before? Thats alot of bikes in a 20 footer. Tool boxes, gear bags, gas cans, spares bins.... spare tireS for the trailer. I usually lose one per trip and with that many bikes, I'd have two spares.

well this is starting to suck ...
I also need to find some reasonable accommodations to split with someone in order to do this.

Guys, this is truely a chance of a lifetime. Two of the biggest expenses of doing daytona are Hotel and Fuel to get there. This deal sounds pretty sweet. Talk about doing it on the cheap!
I have been going to Daytona 2x a years since 2001, driving my truck and trailer down and back and let me tell you, its a huge expense. For the October round, we make it a family trip and I make the wife and kids experience 'the traveling racers lifestyle' -complete with a few hours of sleep in the Hotel de'Pickup Truck. The last few years after the ROC, we have parked the trailer and went to Orlando for a few days as a family vacation.
Racing at Daytona is an amazing experience.... there is no other track in the world like it. I know money is tight and the ecomony sucks... but if there is a way to make this happen, I highly suggest it.
No bigger rush than hitting the banking WFO, drafting by 2 guys, running it in deep into the chicane and outbraking 1 or 2 others.........all with a tail wind !
Scott #4
Damn it, I've got the vacation time to do this, but can't quite swing entry fees/track day/etc to pull it off. If I skip this weekend and Sept at NHMS I MAYBE can swing it...
Gino, what's the sleeping plan for the NJ leg?
How often can you donate blood?
Edit: Crap, forgot I'm going to need to get a belly pan too, no way I can pull this off.
