it had a wiseco 13.0 in there, i looked at JE (since theyre actually the company that makes the factory connection pistons just not marked up to stupid prices) and they had 12.5 and 13.5 so I figured I would go on the conservative side since I think the high comp is what did her in along with lots of hours

New valves means have the seats cut and lapped to match. On the piston, the more cam overlap you have, the more static compression you need... what's in there now for a cam?

yeah I'll have to find somewhere around here to have that done. So I should just take the valves and the stripped head to this shop once I identify it?

    Cam is stock.

Yeah I've seen that as well. Mine was fairly mild but I put a lot of hours on it I guess. This one will be the same but a beefier head setup and a little bit less compression, I will probably still run C12 in it

Sounds like a good plan. Shouldn't take long to cut new seats and lap the valves in if they know what they're doing. May want to give them the springs and retainers too so once the valves are mated to the head they can install them, if not have them mark the head and valves with a sharpie so they don't get swapped around when you do the install.

Hmm ok. You mean mark to make sure left and right intake don't get confused or something? Because the intake and exhaust are different sizes so easy to know.

Any idea how much the cut and lap should cost? And any suggestions for a place?

Right, no point cutting and lapping the intakes properly if you swap'em when you install. As far as where to go, the only place I have hands on experience with is in southern Maine, which I'm guessing is a bit far for a valve job. Gotta be someone closer to you who's on the ball for this sort of thing.

I've no idea on that one. 1 to 3 hours labor, depending on how good a job they do?

    Re: 100 Days

there is a place in Keene NH i think, bought a crf head off him. he lapped the valves on a used one and installed the valve's and springs. total for the head lap, and valve set up was less than 400 shipped to my door. I have to find his card but i think he was called Vandis Machine? he does work for Shane and nate poole, dont know if that helps. other than that McMasters in maine is who my mechanic uses. McMasters used to build nascar motors for him. Quint Boisvert (my mechanic/Sponsor) had a motor done by pro-circuit and sent it to McMasters because he wasn't happy the the job they did. so he is pretty good. but turn around can be slow.

That includes the parts? So what maybe like 125 bucks for cut and lap?

I'll have to look into this.

I would look at Harrys Machined Parts in Northborough, MA.

No idea on cost but the guy has a pretty good reputation as a japanese motorcycle race engine builder.

New Heads, ported and polished (8-10hp). Had the flywheel removed while I was at it. (less weight and it will spin up quicker). Hoping to go from 63 to 70 something HP
I need all the help I can get since I bumped.
