    Even without rain if its anything like the opening round in the cold traction will be short supply.

    I raced in the cold for 1.5 decades, snow even. Only this season did I have multiple crashes because of it. Wondering if the track surface has changed.

    Actually just the opposite. I left pump gas in it for too long, the breather check valves gummed up as a result and it refused to flow gas at all. The bowl would fill but without the pressurization tubes flowing it wouldn't throw any gas into the motor. D-oh! Henceforth and forever more that bike shall not see ethanol ruined gas ever again.

    It's got a wee bit o compression.

    No, seriously, it kicks over like an old school 450 with no decompressor. I can roll it just past TDC and stand on the kick lever for hours without it budging. My 300 I don't even have to get off the seat to light off, this thing requires respect and technique.
