Re: 2015 LRRS Suggestions/Feedback
Stay tuned, there will be news on the ULGP class soon. I'm optimistic that we will be able to get something to replace P89 that will be workable for a lot of you.

Re: 2015 LRRS Suggestions/Feedback
Eric, did ASRA remove us from their series? I dont see us on their schedule for 2016

Re: 2015 LRRS Suggestions/Feedback
Eric any chance that the paint lines on the track will get redone in a way so that they wont be so damn slippery?!

So far, all we have is the endurance series coming. I know that there were talks about the ASRA series but I'm not sure where that stands.

I don't know on that one....we've talked about it several times and no one has come up with an actual product that does any better than what they have now. If there are any chemists in the room, please feel free to chime in.

Believe Shawn Pigott's company is heavy into abrasives and adhesives... they may have something.

How about abrading the surface of the asphalt and then painting over the roughness. Have seen this popping up on the highways as of late where the surface has been roughed up before the I-95 logo has been painted over it to keep from creating a giant slick spot. Even if this were only done for the Orange box and yellow lines around the entry of 1 and exit of pit Rd T2, T3 T10 and T12 it shouldnt affect nascar. the white hashlines in T2 and T12 for nascar arent as big of as issue.

Not claiming to know any better but from what I understand of how tires interface with pavement I wouldn't think that this would be all that much better when under the tire loads placed on a race tire. The paint surface will still smooth out the peaks and valleys and other imperfections that are in the roughed up pavement which the tire molds to and grabs on to and it will still be slick. Admittedly any additional roughness over a flat painted surface would be better than nothing so why not give it a shot and see.

I emailed Erik in Texas today and he said that NHMS elected to have the ASRA TC instead of the Sprint series.
Not sure how LRRS is going to run the TC (3 hours or 200 miles) during the classic weekend.
Sucks that ASRA at NHMS is what got me into racing CCS and ASRA, and now i cant even do that event at my own home track for 2016.
they replaced the NHMS round with a new 1.46 mile (9 turn) track in IL. so now ASRA has 3 consecutive mid-west rounds in a row for 2016. :noway:

Isnt there FIM approved paint? Shouldn't that be the easy (probably expensive route).
I also might have contacts at paint manufacturers I could get in touch with if there's going to be serious discussion about it.

That was my understanding too.
My assumption is that the LRRS Endurance will be dropped and only the ASRA TC will take place

Re: 2015 LRRS Suggestions/Feedback
Is the Team Challenge a relay or endurance?

Re: 2015 LRRS Suggestions/Feedback
Same bike when I did it in Jersey and I don't think you have to have more than 1 person. I remember one person doing it by themselves as a long ass practice.

How many bikes do we want to field? :D

Re: 2015 LRRS Suggestions/Feedback
So no ASRA sprint races will occur during the classic? I guess entries were pretty low for those.

Re: 2015 LRRS Suggestions/Feedback
Hey all - update on the P89 / ULGP class and the ULSB class. Good news.
ULSB - Basically the same class as last year with the addition of stock bore SV's
P89/ULGP - It looks like P89 is gone and plugged in it's place will be the ULGP, small bike "tinkertown" class as proposed.
All you guys need to do is fill the grid in this class and you'll have a place to play for as long as you want it.

no ASRA Sprint races at NHMS this year. The round that's normally in August will be at a new 1.45 mile track in IL :noway:
the ASRA Team Challenge (200 miles or 3 hours) will be during the classic, instead of the Loudon Endurance race that's been running there for the last 2 years.

Re: 2015 LRRS Suggestions/Feedback
Fantastic freakin' news, great job Kurlon! What are the FINAL rules?
Motards should still ante up and at least be forced to do a Moto3-like conversion ;) It's not a GP class if you don't feel every single bump NHMS has to throw your way IMHO :P
