Thanks much appreciated
As of now, I aim to come up as a spectator for a round. Diapers are expensive, old house needs work, 2 acres need fencing, I need a tractor.
Amazing how one's goals change in a year.
My goal six months ago was: race everything
My goal has been adjusted to: have fully assembled racebike and transport vehicle in time for NJMP CCS event
What does the kawi even need?
I would like to not break any bones and race as fast as I can consistently. Also, AMA supermoto is a must. Brap!
It totally did.
Anyone who is interested in it, do what you can, blow who you have to, and get a sumo to go rip on those days. It was as fun as it looked.
NHBubba's slowass DRZ rentals coming soon.
We can coordinate something. I'll put 'em on the 200 XC-W and you can get a cut of the rental fee. Then it'll definitely need a new top-end.
TO DOs:
- Don't crash bad;
- 21s (current pb 24.0);
- help/assist novices and riders that want to race;
- Promote LRRS and bring as many riders and non-riders to watch us competing.
- Go to NJMP + Upstate NY with Penguin for 2 day schools.
Would be a super season:
- get <20s;
- win races and at least 1 AM championships;
- Race in October Daytona
What about being my umbrella bunny?!
- Lurking, dreaming and saving pennies for a track bike and/or converting my GS
- Practicing my turns in parking lots
- Getting some leathers that fit my skinny ass
- Getting down to LRRS as a spectator as much as possible..
Those probably don't qualify as racing goals huh? I'm on the long-term plan...
Firefighter: As Isaac mentioned there are lots of people willing to help newcomers but to put a face to a screen name, you can always seek out anyone from the RSP Racing team (black/orange bikes, lots of us) as we always take time out to help the next generation along. I will be at the Penguin school if you have questions during/after. Just look for the really old dorky guy with the "29" on his leathers.
Anyway, goals for the season:
1) afford to race. Right now it is up in the air.
2) Assuming 1 gets met, 13's
3) Assuming 2 gets met, win some races.
4) Assuming all of the above, qualify for and race MotoAmerica NJMP this year.
I would like to say that it is my hope to actually become a threat to the aliens of the MW bracket but frankly that may be out of my reach (now and forever). We shall see.
1) Resist the urge to rent said 17s and do bad things to my KTM.
2) Put my SV back in the teens again. Got within a couple tenths last year.
3) Have fun.
Don't injure myself and keep that bitch singing. Braaap.
Last season goal... met!:
Get a bike and race (after 3 years out of the sport)
This season:
Learn Loudon, don't hit any walls, win some races
Put together enough points or good finishes to get my white plates
Get on the podium for the Team Challenge at Road America (GTU)
I see some guys are interested in heading out to RA for the July 4th weekend. It's already on my schedule, so maybe we can work out a carpool or caravan!
