I've probably said this before but as the days go by I like Jack more and more. The comments from Pecco cement it for me. Ducati has really lost out. Jack has shown he is a great teammate.

    Re: 2022 MotoGP Discussion (Spoilers)

I am really surprised Ducati dropped him, but I suppose if I really think about it, it makes sense: Jack isn't a championship threat - and that is really what Ducati wants...a championship. He also isn't Italian, which is really enfuriating. I get that it helps in the garage if everyone speaks the same language, but Ducati's approach is borderline discrimatory.

    However...

-He is seemingly a very well liked dude within the Ducati team and the whole paddock. Watch his show on redbull Tv, its really cool!
-He is definitely loved by fans, which I imagine transfers well over to sponsors.
-He has a strange emotional make-up that is very rare at such a high level of professional sports - he seems to accept his level and his talent. He doesn't have a Vinales or Rins complex which results in consistent crashing or constant whining. He goes and does his job as best as he can which can usually threaten for the podium
-He is ready to put in the work for Pecco or any other Ducati rider. Team orders are no problem for him. He doesn't cry/whine about not being the number 1 guy. Its sort of like Bottas at Mercedes. I guess when Mercedes finally lost (or the writing was on the wall), they decided to get rid of him in exchange for someone who may win the championship in the future
-He has shown he is capable of winning in the wet or dry.
-He bleeds red for Ducati at this point. I bet if he learned italian they may have kept him.

If they wanted to open up a factor seat, Pramac made a ton of sense to me for Jack. Although the other riders may get more championship points over the course of a season, Jack adds more to the team then all the guys who are just doing exactly the same thing as each other. With so many bikes on the grid, he should be on one. I honestly think Ducati is making a mistake.

I hope he does really well at KTM. It seems to be adventageous to have an "old school" style rider (Aleix, Dovi, Jack, etc.) alongside the new school on the V4s. KTM has not had this yet and it could result in some solid feedback and improvements. Fingers crossed!

    Re: 2022 MotoGP Discussion (Spoilers)

Jack has won me over as a personality, but I do see why Ducati would move on. They are in it to win it, and after 5 years he hasn't posed a threat. 5 years is a good long run in this sport. For Jack, we have to remember that this is his job and his paycheck. How many more years of top money does he have left? I bet it was take a major paycut to stay at ducati, or make good money at KTM. Easy decision for his manager I assume.

Snoozer last round. Current rumors indicate Mir and Rins could be headed to Honda. Bummer.
Hopefully the series can figure out some new changes to renew interest which appears to be waning with VR46’s retirement and MM out again.

Of course not. But if watching one rider ditch the field early on and run consistent practice laps to win by 5 seconds excites you, great.

I like watching no matter how things shake out ... each one is different. Practice?
He just clicks them off like anyone who's ever won a race... would you like the race winner to be inconsistent? not sure what you're asking for in a race. yes, a battle would be great so who's going to man up a catch him? it's not the leader's fault if no one can match his times... if Pecco can stay on two wheels this weekend it should be more of a battle. or not...

I never said a word about FQ until you brought him up. I don’t care who wins if it’s a runaway, huge margin victory. Sorry, but that is very boring to watch (for me).

    Re: 2022 MotoGP Discussion (Spoilers)

Was a fun race today. Aleix had one hell of a ride. MM type in the past. Like last year and the year before this season is all over. It is great to see so many riders getting a taste of the podium.

FQ getting a long lap penalty for next round is garbage. Maybe it was a risky move but I think all the stewards are going get for handing out penalties like this is just some follow the leader. I think it's even more BS that FQ gets this penalty when TN didn't get anything for taking out two riders at the start of the Spanish GP.

Great way to come back from the break. MV riding like he had something to prove, shame about the bobbles on the last lap.
Definitely looking forward to the 2nd half of the season!

    Re: 2022 MotoGP Discussion (Spoilers)

Faaaaantatsic racing this weekend. For sure a great return from the summer break.

    How bout them Stegosaurus butts?

It was great to see Mav gelling with the Aprilia. Think I heard that his launch device didn't engage on the start which led to the poor start off the line, but he worked his way back up very well.

Glad Pecco was able to stay upright. He's been win-it-or-bin-it lately. He fought hard this weekend, saying he and the team were struggling with set-up leading up to the morning of the race... think I heard him say they made a rare geometry change & that, coupled with the hard rear tire, got him that winning combo... but I thought Mav was gonna get him till he ran juuuuust a little wide on a couple of those corners on the last lap.

Also super pumped for Jack. I hope he gets one more win before parting ways with Ducati... might be his last chance before retirement unless KTM really pulls something out of their back pocket next year for him. I hope it happens but I have my doubts.

The Moto3 race... HOLY SHIT! The number of overtakes was off the charts. I was pulling for McPhee but once again he proved that, even though he's got the skills to get TO the front, he's not quite able to stay there. I think we'll see some serious drama as we approach the end of the season with how close the points are.

Haven't watched Moto2 yet, but it sounds like Cam is still adapting, eh? I'll have to watch that today to see what happened.

Zarco!!! had the lead and cough a hair ball! Pecco he was nowhere Friday and Saturday, that must have been a great adjustment he was on rails Sunday.. Miller awesome weekend for him hope he makes Ducati regret not giving him a ride. Mavrick when he's happy one of the fastest guys in MotoGP i am sure he will get a win or two before this is over. Aleix
Espargaro tough as they come, that high side was brutal, and all most took points away from Fabio hats off to him. Best ride though goes to the Beast! awesome start to the second half. should be fun.

    Re: 2022 MotoGP Discussion (Spoilers)

Once again bummed for Zarco. I gotta believe he has one coming. Maybe the DUI was a wake up call for Pecco? Seems his struggles this season have really been between the ears. Not that getting a DUI is a "good" thing, but some of us require harsher lessons in maturing. I'd love to see Mav win one. Hell I'd love to see him win a lot, redemption stories are awesome (see above?) Absolute stones from Aleix. Aprilia is putting together a hell of a season. Ducati will not regret dropping Miller. He's a great journeyman but he's not going to win them (or anyone) a championship, time to move on. I like seeing him succeed, but he's already reaching his ceiling.

    Re: 2022 MotoGP Discussion (Spoilers)

Mav will win one and probably surpass Aleix next season. Wouldn't be surprised to see Mir grab some wins on the satelite Aprilia either.

I made a post a long time ago on Mav and how he is no different than whoever Marc's teammate was. Mav has a special talent, just not quite as high as Fabio. Whatever Fabio has (seemingly his active forward/backward weight distribution) works really well with the Yamaha. Fabio is also prone to fall back through the field if he can't get clean air out front, just not as bad as Mav. Yamaha really needs to fix this. I hate to say it, but I think the inline 4 is dead in MotoGP unless they make the front slick worse.

I think Jack is the perfect teammate for Ducati's championship leader. He's the Dani Pedrosa of Honda. The last thing you want is 2 riders going toe-to-toe stealing points from one another. Jack is that support guy. He's entertaining. Fan's love him. Great publicity for the sponsors. I wish he at least stayed with Pramac, but excited to see what he does on a KTM. Pit and KTM are very solidly in the camp of "we need workers," and Jack + Pol are those dudes. I'm sad of the downward turn KTM took this year, I really thought after last season they would be right up there every race. Maybe it was one wrong decision that they need to get out of the season to fix since they lost their concessions.

I truthfully felt bad for Zarco. I've had a change of heart, I'm pulling for him to win one.
