    Brake rotor prep

Do any of you hone or sandblast your used rotors to prep them for the following year?

What do you do to clean of the burnishing or otherwise prep your brake rotors?

never done more than scotchbrite/fine steel wool myself.

i was always of the understanding sand/bead blasting brake rotors is a bad thing as the medium can get wedged in your buttons.

My wife hates it when she gets sand wedged in her button.

    Nice.

yeah, the most I do is spray em w/ brake cleaner & hit it w/ steel wool to get most of the rust off, then let the brake pads do the rest

make sure they're still bolted to the wheel.

seriously. never done anything to "maintain" them during the off-season. unless you store them in an exceptionally damp basement the 1st trip to hot-pit lane will scrub off any rust - if you do store them in that kinda place then ride around the pits once and they'll be fine.
