Interesting to see a de-stroked SV650 (listed as an SV565) running around in GTL and LWGP.

Ties are interesting. The Superstock Amateur had a 4 way tie for 5th place.
Most important seems y'all had fun and at the end of the day that's what really racing and motorcycles are about!

LRRS < CCS < ASRA/AMA < AMA Pro
I know most will argue that LRRS and CCS is the same, but it really isn't. CCS travels every round to a different track which lessens the "home court advantage" and tends to not have the same top riders every round that have been riding for 20+ years.
I know everyone will get all Loudon defensive about it, but that's my opinion & I'm sticking to it.

I had a great time! As I said on Facebook, I can't thank Joel, Gino, Bill and Gino's parents enough for the help and hospitality! I had a good race despite a crappy start and managed to work my way up to and hold onto fourth place. 2:11 was my best time. I'll do an end of season writeup with the details when I get to a real computer but I definitely experienced the gamut of emotions associated with racing compressed into a few short days.
Ah, it's one of THOSE de-strokers... Cool. Knew they are becoming popular in WERA, didn't realize someone was running one in CCS.
For the 'production classes' aka Superbike and Supersport, there is specific rule clause stating that you can't downsize a bike to fit a lower class. IE a HWSB origin machine can't be downsized to run MWSB, etc.
No such restriction for GP classes.
By spending some serious coin, he's essentially legally running a MWSS up against LWGP machines. Hence why he ran LWGP and GTL but not LWSB. His motor isn't stressed at all by the build either, compared to some of the crazy Ducs/etc that run LW in the south east. The earlier variant in WERA of this was defeating one cylinder (unplug the injector at a minimum) but that only netted a cool sounding 475cc machine turning high 70s to low 80s HP, pumping losses were huge.
I don't agree, for the GP classes in my mind it's totally within the spirit of the class. GP bikes were meant to be rules benders, do whatever it takes to get the job done. In the SE LWGP class that has meant finding crazy expensive low production number Duc 1000/1100 based machines and further building the piss out of them. This is a way to do so for a MUCH smaller total outlay, and it's a common chassis so setup isn't a mystery either. He read the rules book and found the loop-hole, more props to him.
I've gone both routes before. The big crazy stuff is cool as all hell, till it breaks. Repeatedly. When you can least afford it. Damn it not again...
I'm liking the fact that this year's winter maint must include the following:
Fluid changes
Check valves
Done. Not crazy fragile, yet still competitive. I have time on race weekends to stop, relax, and not worry about fixing X or adjusting Y. It's cool.
That said, the crazy mad scientist lurking inside has been talking to me still, there is a loop hole or two I haven't exploited, HP left untapped... all I need to do is man up and throw a VISA in the right direction to start the second build...
