Wow that's freekin awesome!!! Everyone who donated, or helped; raise your right arm straight up, bend at the elbow as far as you can, now give your self several pats on the back!!! What a way to brighten up a monday!!! Sounds like everyday Chris gets better and better! And that 17K ought to relieve a good bit of those nasty med bills!!
Hell yeah! This is priceless news! Good for Chris and hopefully a "little" sigh for Kate!
Great news about Chris, and great news about the money raised. Holy shit, that's a lot of money. Just goes to show that the LRRS community truly is a family.

awesome. got goose bumps too. just sucks had to hear through the net!!!!!!
$17,000!!!? WOW!!
Great news to hear he is doing better.
Was an awesome sight. I think every single person (racers, family, friends, corner workers, support, etc...) came out for the BBQ. They ended up running out of food, since they hadn't counted on everyone coming and donating.

Great news Larry, thanks for the update. This past weekend was just a blast in Chris' honor and im sure everyone would agree!
Thats awesome news all around!
OK, I know it's only been two days but I thought I'd pass this along. I just missed a call from Kate (chris' gf) and figured I'd check the message. It was Chris sounding even more clear than Sun night so I called back. He answered and it was all good. He said we were scheduled to race this coming weekend (which we're not) and that we have a race program to follow so I'd better be ready. LOL. I told him I was just there two days ago and didnt want to go back doing those slow times again. He did the math and said yeah you're about 5 seconds off, geez. Then I asked if he remembered talking to me Sun night and he said "kinda but that was months ago", again - lol.
Kate said that he asked to call me and dialed my number himself so I'm pretty sure his memory is flooding back as we type.
Just wanted to let people know this kind of stuff, it's nice to report positive things once in a while...

"To all:
On behalf of the Dinoia family, my sincere thanks to all who helped, donated and bid, barbequed and everything else that made the weekend fundraiser a success. It was an astounding display of generosity and caring on behalf of the entire racing community. Chris will end up receiving close to $20,000 from the combined efforts. It will go a long way.
Thanks again

Awesome news about Chris, thanks for the updates Larry. Keep them coming.
We ended up having to make 3 runs for food, one initial one when we expected ~100 people, then a second when almost 200 raised their hands at the rider's meeting saying they were going to attend, and then third when we saw that the line of people coming over kept getting LONGER for the first hour. I took a quick ride around the infield while we were in full swing, and saw about 30 people not at the BBQ, and most of them I recognized as already having coming through the line and donating and eating. Between all the people making generous donations, and the crazy bidding at the auction, it really does show just how great a group of people the LRRS community is.
Huge thanks to everyone who came, everyone who donated, everyone who bid on auction items, and everyone who donated auction items!
