    Cornerworkers

Show some love on the cool down lap and let your cornerworkers and ambulance crews know that their efforts are appreciated.

There are a number of workers on here and some of us race and work during the course of the weekend.
If you're a fan of the racing consider cornerworking. We have the best seats in the house.

Add your name to the list so that everyone knows who to thank at the end of the day.

Here are some that I know work regularly:

I do the wave as well! Hell they are waving at us and clapping most of the time!

I have only cornerworked a few times. Hope to do it more this year.

    Re: Cornerworkers

I had a corner worker at T5 giving me the 'do a wheelie' sign as I came by after my last race Sunday. I just looked at him shaking my head laughing.

    1) I suck at wheelies
    2) I was so damn tired after the race I couldn't pull up on the bars anyhow!!

    Re: Cornerworkers

I have a split personality. I'm one of the corner captains and I provide the red utility liftgate truck as the LRRS/USM crash truck. If you here the call for Jeeves on the radio, that's me.

I usually provide it for track days if I'm not a rider. I'll be working the Boston Moto days to help watch out for all the good NESR folk ( and the non-NESR peeps to, I guess ).

DUDE !!! You forgot to list your name. It doesn't matter how often you can work. If your crazy enough to play in traffic, you deserve to be listed.

Yeah, Sunday was nice. Only one crash and one Jeeves call. Like a day in the Bahamas!

aw thanks for the love guys....unfortunately you won't be getting a wave from me this year, but you all should know that i am watching over you (literally) from above trying to keep you safe and get your races documented properly.

in the past (and probably next year again), if it's raining, you probably saw my flags in 2

    Re: Cornerworkers

    Next best thing to riding.

I was doing a couple back to back track days a few years ago. I kept hearing announcements asking for people to volunteer for corner working. When I was done, I asked around to find out what all the fuss was about. I hooked up with Scott Sewade, VP of the US Marshalls, and that was that.

I figured it was good karma. If I crash, I figure I've paid my dues in advance. Haven't missed a race weekend since. Only problem, if ( when ) I crash, they'll never let me forget it. Especially if it's Scotty Cole that picks me up.

    Re: Cornerworkers

I wouldnt mind corner working sometime, how lenient are they about sneaking into and out of a corner though? I dont think I'll have enough free time to spend a whole lot of time anywhere.

    Re: Cornerworkers

There are quite a few racers who corner work. Laura just needs to know what practices and races you need to be gone for. Or, what times you can work.

Usually you'll get assigned 3/10, 1/1A/2, 6 or 12. That way there's a gate you can easily use. You check in/out with the corner captain so they can verify you were there.

We get more racers in the corners when it rains. Chickens!......j/k

Just let Laura know what you can do and she finds a spot for you.
If I say I can only do 3 races she says thank you for helping not "is that all you can do"

Oh, you do need to take the class first unless Laura is willing to wave it for hands on in the corner. Check with her at the next event.
