Were you using a 3/8" drive ft-lb range torque wrench? Those are going to be quite inaccurate at the lower end of their torque range.
16.5 ftlb is kinda borderline but I'm guessing that was your problem.
For low-torque bolts/fittings you're going to want to use a 1/4" drive in-lb torque wrench, they usually go from 20-250inlb or something like that, so you'd be using it around 200in-lb in the meat of it's usable range.

Nice, that's the way to do it. I wish I worked like that...I typically schedule things so they'll be finished up at the lat minute. Makes for exciting times.
No, I didn't. I worked with them on a couple things when I got the lines in the first place and wasn't impressed. But more than that...I have no interest in putting their parts back on my bike.
1 more day! Till Round 2 of the CVMA series that is. While I 'raced' the Endurance race at Round 1 on a buddy's bike... this will be my first official race on my bike. Gridding up in Expert 600 for the first time is going to be crazy! Got to go home tonight and load up the truck and trailer and get everything ready....
After 2 days this week (Monday / Tuesday) at the Yamaha Champions Riding School at Miller, I'm feeling sharp on the bike and hopefully ready to go.

8 days............................
God damn my new helmet is shiny. I was a bit undecided about the graphics for awhile...
I got it at speed addict cycles. 290, with a free extra visor, great deal in my eyes.

nice. that's one of the older designs, their new ones just aren't as nice. they must have a different design team now cause most of them suck. I got my Excel Biaggi 2010 from speedaddict also. might be the newest helmet I've ever had, manufactured in Oct or Nov 2011, I'll probably crash it before I get the full 5 years out of it.

The Suomy site still has this style listed, but I agree, a lot of the designs now are a bit lame. But I guess it really doesn't matter that much, as what a helmet looks like sure as hell doesn't make you fast. This one was on sale, cheap, and definitely an attention getter. I dig it.

I didn't mean it was an old helmet just the graphics design was done a few years ago.
I wish they'd still do them in solid colors. I like the design on my new helmet but I would have just gone solid white again and saved even more money.
I think you misunderstood. Its how fast the new stuff finds its way onto the pavement. Remember how fast I hit the ground with my brand new paint job last year? didn't make it to the end of the first day with it. first damage done to my custom suit too but that wasn't new.

picked up my bike today the only thing left is to find a belly pan
7 Days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fahhhhk. Started the bike today after changing oil and coolant...carbs leaked out of every spot possible. I swear every gasket let go at once. I don't think there's time to get a gasket kit, and the carbs are jerry rigged together anyways. Thanks to jcbell I have another set to cannibalize... Hope it all works out. Other than that the bike runs and should be good.
