2021 MotoGP Discussion (Spoilers)

No spoilers yet, but here's the place to dish em. Qatar test starts up in a week. Should be another interesting season. How will Marq do? Rossi on satellite bike. A dozen+ very competitive riders and bikes. Should be fun.

Just checked and it looks like Rossi gets a 2021 bike. Hopefully it's an improvement. Seems like previous 3ish bikes moved way from his riding style.

“He’ll be riding a factory bike with the same spec as the factory riders. It is true that some of the development will be led more by the factory team, but Valentino is a very important part of our data gathering.

“Having more riders on the track is important and there’s no question our engineers will be looking at the data of Fabio, Maverick and Valentino to develop and further progress the factory bike.

“But also, we get some interesting information as well from having Franky [Morbidelli] out there [on the older bike].

“So, I think that it will be not a huge change, it will not be a deficit in any case ,and it will not change very much how we develop the bike.”

I'm starting to get excited. They have 2 tests and a race in Qatar. That means they will be there for a month! That's pretty heavy. I wish they would have covered some of the test done on the superbikes. What a missed opportunity for the factories!

Hoping Pol can impress on the Honda, it would be nice for Marc to have a teammate that is right up there with him, assuming Marc comes back like we know him.
Rossi.. don't know how I feel... the fanboy in me wants him to pull off a Tom Brady but the grid is stronger than ever before.. I don't think he stands a chance against the kids.
Really though, lets get Marc back, he's the benchmark standard.

Testing was interesting if a bit subdued. Can Fabio keep up the pace and consistency this year? If so, he will be in the hunt. The Ducatis are fast friggin bikes. All 5 of the top five speeds are ducs. Of course, top speed doesn't win races. Pol impressed me. I thought he would flounder for a bit.

I guess the light and a laser pointed at the ground measure movement in all planes? Probably helps them understand flex and vibrations etc.

That's cool Oreo! Both my Sony OLED's have Android 9 with the MotoGP app from the Google Play Store and 600mps from Comcast. Amazing video! Was watching ATF today. Can't wait for the season to start.

Last day of tasting basically a washout. Or more accurately a dust out - high winds blowing sand all over the track



I wonder if they do anything to clean up the track after it dies down or do the bikes have to "dry" the line at the race

Pretty sure they run jet blowers. But the bikes still have to clean that last layer
